Re: Bivvy a month 2019
Sorry, a bit late but thanks from me also to Zippy for scores on the doors. It all helped in finally completing a BaM (third time lucky I guess). I’m suitably impressed with Borderers bivvy in someone’s back garden, that is just brilliant. I trust you scuttled off before discovery? Can I add a new c...

Very much in the same camp (hoho) as Scotroutes, not sure I’m in it for the long haul this year. Re: Anyone Ridden River Meig Track?
As SR said, I’ve ridden it. August ‘18 iirc. https://live.staticflickr.com/1816/44002308852_fb5905c4c5_z.jpg The track between Corrievuic and Glenuaig Lodge It’s mostly decent track but there’s a section in the middle (0.5-1 km) that was reedy/a bit damp. 18 was a pretty dry summer and there was onl...

Re: What's in your hip flask?
Despite being a whisky drinker (Islay’s If you please) I tend to take a wee bottle of red wine (one of them plastic ones, usually a Shiraz-Cab from M&S) as it’s the right amount of alcohol for me and I don’t own a hipper (I do have a look for one of the snow peak Ti ones every now and again but ...

Actually a short, little “mïcro adventure” (FFS!)
Hardly seems worth it for something so inconsequential

Re: What you done t' your bike today
It’ll be getting ‘tested’ in its new guise shortly this am (a bimble out Aviemore way with Scotroutes). :-bd I’ve had tendinitis issues in my left foot so this will be my first just out for a ride in knocking on 6 months. I’m looking forward to it on several levels... Really interested to see if 29+...

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Fitted the cheap specialized 2.6” tyres (purgatory & hillbilly) on my new wheels (pro4/xm481s) with new slx rotors and XT 46 cassette. Then swapped the black Hope stem for an orange one and finally swapped out the vaults for some burgtec penthouse in silver. I must say, it’s looking nice  h...

Re: What you doing next year?
Planning on riding the Camino del Norte (probably from Bilbao). May or June hopefully.
Carry on my BaM’s.
As I didn’t manage this year, I still want to do the north loops of the HT550 (pick up at Contin which is ridable from the house...).

Re: Favourite bike of 'all time'?
It would have to be my (‘95?) Kona Explosif, Columbus biaxial steel tubed frame I bought cheap secondhand off the manager of Alpine Bikes. It hadn’t been ridden hard (or well looked after). It was pretty scruffy and was missing the rear brake cable hanger. Os I got a vee brake cable stop welded on a...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019
It felt a bit like touching the void (a trudge over the Burma Road pushing a fully loaded bike through inches of snow and drifts just to do exactly the same but in reverse this morning) but bivvy #12 of 12 (14 in a row) completed. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49212758833_9b93d0ea18_z.jpg Firs...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019
11/11, 13th consecutive. It was a bit of a bugger summoning up the motivation for this month. Having gone to all the bother of loading up the car and driving to Findhorn (figured it would be 'warmer' at the coast) I did head out to the Roseisle after tea at the Kimberley Inn. Tested my 'new' (bought...

It's been a struggle this month, can't seem to find the motivation and the weather hasn't been conducive.
This very much a token effort.

Re: Bivvy a month 2019
As per^ 10/10, 12 in a row. My foot has been acting up (tendonitis or something). It's limited me the last couple months so with my 12th consecutive BaM we were supposed to do the Loch Ness 360. But, my foot... So Aviemore depart to Bynack Stables it was with food (and a couple beers) at the Woodshe...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019
@zippy: I bivvyed up Glen Esk in August.
Not being able to pick up a bbc code on my iPad I can’t manage to link a photo atm.
Scotroutes photo shows my leg and his text covers my September bivvy
So I’m 9/9 and 11 in a row.

WTB Ranger (in tough casing). Wore one out, replaced it with a Maxxis Rekon which lasted about 5 hours (sidewall slash start of the descent from the Lairig & Louigh) so replaced replacement with another ranger. Went up tubeless no problem on a hope 35W with a track pump. The Maxxis needed the ai...
