Re: WTD - Lightweight Stove Solutions
Interesting. Like I said, I love my trangia, so I'm no stranger to carrying meths. I have a little alpkit steel bottle that fits nicely under the downtube for that so no problems there. I even carry a pack of green rizzla with me even though I gave up smoking a long time ago as I found that using on...

Re: WTD - Lightweight Stove Solutions

Hello! First things first. I F'ing love my Trangia, but I have a few wee weekends where I want to be faster than carrying a full size Trangia really warrents. With that in mind, does anyone have any lightweight/small footpring cooking solutions sat unloved somewhere? Open to all ideas and price rang...

Re: Rigid 29er (+?) under a grand?
Fancy buying my Singular 'Rooster'??? Large, yellow, 1*11, 52mm rims, 3" tyres, good used condition, sensibly priced but plus postage from here (France). Full specs/price available upon request..... Let's play a game of lusting after something I don't need but will inevitably want. Yeah please...

Mental isn’t it! Fortunately I’m in no rush, so I’m gathering intel for an October/November execution ideally.Bearbonesnorm wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 6:51 pm I've just had a quick on-line search and I hadn't realised before just how depleted stocks are.

Spotted that, they look great but I really do fancy something with the bigger wheels for mile munching and commuting. I'll keep scouring!Piemonster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 6:17 pm I was going to suggest a Sonder Frontier but the sub £1k options are out of stock, £1099 for the next option.
No idea what they’re like mind you.

Rigid 29er (+?) under a grand?
...That isn't a planet X. That bootzipper would be ace. I'm gonna grab one on the cycle to work for both bikepacking fun and winter commuting. My commute is ~15 miles each way and I'm enjoying that mental chess that is road commuting. but I can also do it almost completely on canals if I want, which...

Re: Attaching Cages to Suspension forks
There are a few threads on this and various options but 8mm zip ties and inner tube worked for me many times. They weren't re-usable but you could generally pop up the wee tab and open them / re-use them. You know what, I'm old enough to know better than to post without using the search function fi...

Attaching Cages to Suspension forks
Hello! I recently received two Blackburn cages (From a very nice chap on here, I might add) that I intend to use across two separate bikes. One is a Genesis CdF. Has one mount, will zip tie through the other, no problem. The other is an Orange Crush for the Gnarlier trips. I'm not planning on bangin...

Re: SPD cleats, standard?
“SPD” is the standard, so if you’ve got SPD pedals and SPD cleats (regardless of if either is shimano) you’ll be grand. Just be cautious because SPD-SL is also a standard. But a different one.

...turned out to be driving rain, 2 metre visibility, and howling winds all night. Fortunately, It was about 10 degrees which I consider quite toasty in any normal situation, but I really struggled to keep warm around my hips and waist. My current bag is a Blacks Aerolight 1000, which has served me...

Re: Budget Bags
I went from a Numo to an Exped Synmat, it's made a very significant increase in warmth for me. Given your height, you should be able to pick up one of the M sized mats for ~£70 if you keep an eye open for special offers. I really want to believe a new mat will make a bunch of difference, but I feel...

Re: Budget Bags
Thanks for such a comprehensive reply! I've done some research into mats, and nearly pulled the trigger on one of the thermarest pads a while ago but the cold seems to always be on my top side, not from the floor. So long term, yes, I agree a higher quality mat makes sense, in the meantime, I just w...

Generally light, compact and decent comes at a price. Have you considered a quilt? The Cumulus range are popul...

Hello! First time poster, medium term lurker. Semi-competent bike packer. A wee bit of background. I've done a lot of what one would have to call bike "touring". Panniers front and back, food for days, and a 50+ kg loaded bike. As a recent convert to mountain biking, I've invested in some ...

Re: 2nd City Divide
I've been looking at this for a similar time. Living north of Rochdale I know the route round me is "chunky" at best and catastrophic for a CX bike at worse! Never the less, I think i's sooner pick a slow route through the first half (It would be south to north for me) and then cruise on t...
