Since entering for the 2020, my entry was defered as a result of Covid, and again in 2021 due to a wedding...
I therefore find myself on the startline for the 2022 grand depart, any others here joining?
It would be good to hear from anyone else starting in May and catch up....

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Hi Tim, No, im just running a 11 Speed Spire Narrow Wide chainring, on a 9 speed chain. Seems fine - no issues at all. So all i bought was the convertor - £30 and a 9 Speed chain £20....job done. Ive done about 5 rides now, all about 35km with 1000m of climbing, and my body is still holding up just ...

Re: What you done t' your bike today
I decided to take my Pace RC627 that i used on Barebones and convert it to single speed for the winter - or till i decide enough is enough. I am running 30 x 16 using the Gusset Sram XD convertor, it was really easy. As the cables all run externally with one length of hose, its all come off in a sin...

Re: Readers Rides: The bikes of Bearbones2/300 2021
I totally forgot to take a photo of my bike setup. Here it is earlier in the month when I completed The Icknield Way double. I had less stuff in the saddle bag, no backup water bottle, otherwise it was looking pretty similar. https://media.bobarnott.com/gravel/2021-10-02-dunstable-downs.jpeg Do you...

BTW did anyone stay at or visit the LBM Wynnstay Arms before/after? I'm highly tempted for the Winter Event after reading the appalling reviews, it looks ideal :-bd . https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g552059-d6904637-Reviews-The_Wynnstay_Arms_Hotel-Llanbrynmair_Powys_Wales.html We ha...

Re: Bivy equipment choices for an uncomfortable night
My biggest weight saving this year over 2019 and 2020 was the 1l water filter i got on amazon on thursday before the ride. Normally i carried a 3l full bladder in my frame bag....not now...500ml, topping up as i go.....i dont really worry about a few kg here and there as my bike weighs so much! Inte...

Re: What's your BB200 action plan?
My "plan" is 8am depart, cafe stop at 60km, ride to finish at round 10pm to 1am - Beer to finish! It looks like quote a fast route, possibly best on a gravel? But im going to make life hard for myself and use my 160mm travel hardtail and 2.8 tyres to really feel the burn. Will be at the pu...

Re: BB200 route.
Theres an option to do a 4k or so detour at 125.5k, but the shop in the town closes at 8pm, so i imagine that youll have to be on the faster side to reach it in time. I plan on getting a supply pack at the Community Cafe, and drinking river water from there on out!
