Hi groovers - as part of converting an old bike to SS this weekend, I have noticed the pedals on the bike are shocked. Anyone got a pair of pedals they would like to get shot of ?? Thanks M

Re: How to go Single Speed

To all the groovers out there....I have bitten the bullet and spoken to Charlie The Bike Mongers ...... quite possibly the coolest kids on the block... and have ordered the goods - to arrive in a brown paper bag, addressed to the neighbour in case Mrs Groover finds out what I am up to this weekend -...

How to go Single Speed

Hey groovers, I have an old Kona Cindercone lurking in the garage and it has sat there doing nothing for years. Could anyone give me a run down on how to get it converted to Single Speed, what I would need and what you reckon it would cost. Thanks gurus. M

Yes great news letters Stu. As a complete newby to this bike packing lark, the newsletters do give that extra bit of inspiration to just get out there and go nowhere at the same time as getting lost while getting there!

Re: When farm dogs get nasty!

When I was an athlete in my previous life, I went on a warm weather training camp in Spain. As I was walking back to camp a hoard of rabied looking strays came out of nowhere and surrounded me. My coach had conveniently ran to a safe place a short distance away. It was from here he gave his advice: ...

Finally a subject I'm an 'expert on' As above, really easy to say but don't take on many things and it becomes easier. Being anti-social makes this easier but has taken me years to get my wife to think similar, sometimes she would double book herself for parties/outings etc and then end up ca...

Thanks for that - I will indeed give it a go! My daughter who is 7 can use a sewing machine, so I must be able to cobble something together - or maybe she would like to "help" me!! Will keep posted as to the outcome. Thanks again.

Me again! For training for a long ride like BB200 and training for endurance - is it best to try and a) up the miles or b) up the time in the saddle. I am guessing the latter, but just wanted any advice / affirmation!? M
