Re: bivy bag
No tarp. I am probably interested in getting the snowyside with eVent top and cuben bottom as per mje25 and then their super light one. That way make a call on the weather before an event and pack accordingly.

Re: bivy bag
Does having the cuben base reduce breathability? Does it really save that much weight over an all eVent bag?
I am sold on Borah. They have been really helpful. Much cheaper than MLD as well.

Re: bivy bag
The Outdoor Research Helium does look bigger than those two though and would probably be about the same weight without the pole...

bivy bag
So narrowed my quest for light bivy bag down to the Borah Snowyside eVent and the MLD eVent Soul bivy.
Anyone any experience of either? The MLD is much more expensive. Probs down to having cuben bottom.

Did most of this last year with a few other peeps. Lovely route. Some nice technical sections and lots of opportunity for cafe stops.

Tour du Mont Blanc
Doing this in the summer. The guy I am doing it with wants to go the 'wrong' way round as he is following his partner who is running it to recce a race for later in the year. The bike route usually goes clockwise and the walking/running route the other way. Has anyone got any experience of going ant...

Re: Light bivy
Light is key. I like the hoop and figure if I want to go lighter I just don't use the hoop.
I like just crawling into a bivy as oppose to putting up a tarp.

Looking at getting lighter bivy than my Rab Ridge Raider. Looking at the Black Diamond Twilight or Spotlight or the Outdoor Research Helium. Any experiences? Am I right in thinking I can just not use the pole in the Helium or Spotlight and it will be much the same as the hoopless Twilight....? For t...

Re: Braunton 150 Tracker Page
Got over 40 peeps down for the group start on Good Friday now. Looking like a good field of riders. Start time of 0930 should give riders a good day in the 'sunshine'. If people want to get down a bit early Vix at the café doesn't mind opening a bit earlier for coffee and pre-ride breccy. A few of u...

Re: Bar light
I think as well as light power and battery weight is a real factor. The Race is a good 100g lighter. I know the MaxxD and sixpack are much brighter. But how much light do you need?! I like the Exposure stuff. Fit and forget and no faff with cables and wotnot. I don't have too much gear on the bars s...

Bar light
Getting a new handlebar light. Use a Exposure Diablo helmet mounted. Was thinking Exposure Race or Maxx D for the bar mount. Moving away from A Revo set up coz of new bike. Any experience of the two lights? Only really interested in Exposure.
