Re: Who’s brand ‘loyal’ ?

Brands I have brought before and have had good experience with are going to get a better chance of me buying something else from them but not blindly and without consideration. I think that the service you get in someway makes up for a slightly defective design as well. For example, some slight ham-...

Re: Lightweight shelters

So, what are the disadvantages to the Cape system then? Was thinking about a luna solo but really beginning to be swayed. I assume that no bivi bag would be needed, especially with the full serenity inner. Assume you can also leave it open to see the stars if weather is fine. There must be some draw...

Re: Lightweight shelters

So, how does the Cape and net combo work in difficult to pitch spots? It's been said before that there are times you can pitch a tarp but cant pitch a tent (sniggers). How does this apply to the Cape?

Was that 'ow' hot or 'you absolute *^$£^!¬"' hot? Leather might work then, might take a little piece of something similar with me this weekend to see how it goes Based on the double ring effect I would guess it was an "ow, you absolute *^$£^!¬"' hot" followed by a "wonder i...

Guess I will continue with my 'don't wash it till it stands up on its own' routine in that case. Thanks folks.

Washing Gortex Regularly

Are there any issues with this? Use Nikwax Tech Wash and occasional Nikwax tx direct wash-in. Jacket gets a lot dirtier a lot more regularly when using for biking rather than walking. Apparently washing can help reactivate the waterproofing but is there such thing as too much washing?

Cheers.

That's too bad. Hope it's because you want to call it a day rather than it being forced on you. I have got a bit of your kit and think it's top notch. Have consoled myself with a nice new dry bag from you!

Best of luck for the future.

Would 2 x 10000 potentially be better in terms of redundancy? Not sure how much additional weight this would be.

Medium cage xt works fine with 46 x 1. Been running that for last 8 months with no problems.

Just took a look at their range. Quite nice colour selection but would probably buy black. Maybe grey if I was feeling adventurous.

I roll out Marzipan then spread melted dark chocolate over it before rolling it up like a Swiss roll. Delicious and over 500 calories per 100g. Also peperarmi. :-bd

So basically, we didn't all get lost and stranded in the snowy mountains because we realised that it would be better to have a look at the map before we set off. I think.

Re: Yet another GPS question

you have to start from the exact start point of the route before it will start following with some off road routes
Pretty sure this must be due to the gpx file type you have loaded as whatever it is I have used will just pickup from where you rejoin. I have had no problems with mine off road.

Re: Looks like another loop bar coming

You definitely pay for the mans design input, whether you consider that's a rip off or worth it is subjective. As a jones owner I'm not really in a position to be objective.... I guess my beef with these is that they are largely a copy. I'd like to try loops with a 35 degree sweep and I'm sure othe...

It's pretty hard to fathom the price of jones bars (or anything)...might order some of the Geoffs just to mess about with at that price...and coz they might disappear once the law suits start  The price of jones bars to me falls right in the "taking the piss" category of pricing. I'...

Mine fits me fine but for a Large I would have expected it to perhaps be a little bigger. First time I wore it was spending a day ripping rhododendrons out the ground. Was a little worried I was going to have destroyed it first wear but it appears to have held up fine despite initial thoughts that t...

The main trouble with them for me is when the battery runs out. I get bad enough anxiety watching a light battery guage go down let alone worrying about whether my whole bike was going to run out.
