Re: What you done t' your bike today
New front mech for the drop bar after it broke yesterday ( a mere 4 miles into a century road ride ) .pinch bolt was slipping and snapped clean off when I tightened it...new issue for me that one. . Felt the climbing as I stupidly adjusted it for the big ring rather than remove it so I could heel ki...

Bar end shifter to drop bar to get a friction shifter as too much rubbing on my oversize double mullet drive ( works perfectly) Replaced a dub BB under 1000 miles and non drive totally seized ...poor show. Had a spare so let's see how long that lasts. Replaced a crank on FS ( as I stole BB from that...

A £20 loan being backed by £20 of savings hasn't been the case for decades Way longer than that Minimum capital ration which is the percentage of cash a bank must physically keep. It's never more than 10% and think it's about 8% they actually physically have. You then get the velocity of money ( I ...

I have the exact fork you requested - if not sorted feel free to DM me.... I dont really use them but dont really want to sell them [ this is not a haggling technique and they would be at a good price as I got them new from the wiggle ebay store and think I paid £160 for them]. Wont have done more t...

I just find the "worse things happens" something you can always say, to anything, unless its as extreme as the two things I stated. I could have used the zombie apocalypse and thermonuclear war but doubt that would have met with universal approval/understanding either [ and the two I menti...

this smacks of a woke exercise in re-branding I don't think calling a place in Wales by its( or a ) Welsh name rather than an English ( imperialist ?) one is woke unless you think England gets to name the world. I don't see what the problem is tbh. Apparently the English snowflakes don't seem to li...

Re: 41mm internal (rim) and a 2.4 inch tyre?
exactly as stated tyre started rubbing on one side and the knobbly bit and mud just wore through the chain stay Thankfully it creaked massively so it was spotted rather than snapped on me but you could flex the drive side chain stay and see the issue - the frame was retired -i would strongly advise ...

I did MTL in 8 hours as my first post covid ride-this was a serious mistake on my part and really, really hurt. I had nothing in the tank and consumed the entire groups supply of gels ! Strava says 6,500ft of climbing and 45.27miles [ couple of detours for nicer descents and a cafe so agree on two d...

Re: 41mm internal (rim) and a 2.4 inch tyre?
I have a 3 " tyre on 30 mm rim so yes the tyre will fit - how optimal or otherwise is the question- we should probably just swap rims   As for will the tyre come off- No idea as that is largely down to tyre and rim combo I would go with what they say as that frame is carbon, iirc, and...

Pre internet pretty sure we all did these days I just use the internet for the guides Following a pre defined route ,by someone who knows the area , just makes sense to me and is not what I call a hand rail IMHO its unwise for me , who barley knows the highlands, to plan a route for the gravel bike ...

Problem with a bivvy bag is how to get in, or out, when it's raining. IMHO it's not really a practical solution for UK weather
