Re: What you done t' your bike today

My Vagabond had a long overdue overhaul today, new bottom bracket, rear derailleur, brake pads, large chainring, wheels serviced, genetic digest bars fitted, new bar tape, and all new cables. Had a mate from work who used to be a bike mechanic help me out, I learnt loads, unsurprisingly. Feels a bit...

I got the handlebar harness recently, and to echo what others have said it seems very sturdy, well made and an absolute bargain. Cheers, Stu. :-bd

Re: No expense spared kit wish list

I generally don't hanker for much these days. Probably because I've become (more) jaded, sceptical and old. I've lerarnt that the grass isn't greener, a new bike won't make me faster or even happier and a shiney bit of bling most likely won't live up to the hype surrounding it and will be a constan...

They look very nice, how much will they be?
Around £35 but I'll possibly bundle them together with one of their lovely drybags.
I’m definitely interested in that, give us a shout when you are sorted, cheers :-bd

A pair of cheap (16 quid) mini binoculars for watching wildlife, etc. on my off-road excursions. Obviously not as capable as my full-size binos but surprisingly good for the price. Re: Bar tape recommendations

I have a vagabond with digest bars, and I just double wrap using bar tape from decathlon as it is cheap and because you will hit the bars on a post, tree or doorframe the first time you ride them, they do stick out! Be careful setting them up as they can swing around and whack the top tube if you d...

Re: Bar tape recommendations

I'm a great fan of Lizard Skins DSP. It has a sticky/tacky quality that means you find yourself not gripping the bars so tightly. As a result, you get much le ss road buzz. For touring and long distance I have Fizik gel pads under the tape. You’re the second person to recommend lizard skins, a blok...

Bar tape recommendations

Hello all, I received a lovely pair of genetic digest bars in the post for my vagabond, excited to see what they are like. But, I haven’t wrapped bars for years and was after any recommendations for good bar tape, I prefer a bit of cushioning. Let me know if you have any favourites, cheers :-bd

Aussie Grit's Flint waterproof jacket and gilet - at £35 (down from £99) and £12 (down from £44), respectively. Checked out their online sale and couldn't resist that sort of bargain. Re: What's in your hip flask?

It may be heresy, but every trip I've been on with my mate Matt has been accompanied with a hip flask full of coffee liqueur. It's become a little tradition for us. Its lovely in the morning under the tarp with a strong coffee as well.😉
