Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
Well this week's turned out sh1te  Got stung by by a bee on the inside of my lip on Sunday, most of the week I've had a puffed up face. Last weekend a friend had a cardiac arrest whilst out riding his bike and passed away. This morning I rang a friend to make some arrangements only for her to ...

Re: UCI adopt Gravel?!
We did once run a winter event where all the GR were Spar. I actually find the Coop more dangerous as they usually have a greater choice ... I once came out with a full cooked chicken, 4 muffins, a big block of cheese, 2 pints of milk and a box of cereal :-bd Wow! This is proper snacking. I did onc...

Username chosen by me partly for its intrinsic comedy value and a slight dig at some of the cheesier/pretentious marketing descriptions rife on the internet.
Also, I like the colour orange.

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021
July done. Had a last minute change of plans due to weather and work sucking all of the life out of me. Bivvied a few miles away in the woods instead. IMG_20210731_090017_328.jpg Was nice to get on the MTB instead of the gravelw@nkermobile for a change. Linked up a few trails and made it to the camp...

Oh, forgot to post solstice-ish Bivvy.
Rode to Redon down the GR38 and then back to Josselin on the GR347.
Luckily, the forecast rain never actually arrived.
Some lovely memorable rocky bits of single-track above Rochefort-en-terre.

Not tried trax fatty
Have tried
Chronicle, great in dry conditions
Fat b nimble a bit fragile, not tubeless specific and narrower than stated
Nobby NICs 2.6 on arch rims. Liked these a lot.
Want to try DHF 3.0 on the Hugos.
They look a bit grr.

Re: Dartmoor200: in the making!
Dartmoor is lovely. Did my wettest ever overnighter on Dartmoor. Had to chase after a ti 750ml pot that got caught in a gust then finish the ride in a hub deep torrent. The rain was sheeting off the hills. It was like being at the bottom of a 360° waterfall. Very memorable.

I have had a blue fixplus strap holding the air filter on my work lawnmower for the last year. Sun/rain/vibrations/heat/cold/petrol/wd40/tears of existential angst.
Still working fine.

Mmm yes
On my 2nd AliExpress one.
The 1st one became a bit creaky and clicky after 5 or 6 years so swapped it for a slightly sturdier layback one. Twin wedge expander clamp with carbon assembly paste. So far so good.

That unplugged album is one of the few that I go back to time and again.
Nirvana unplugged
Bjork Debut
Pixies Doolittle
Massive Attack Protection
Tom Paley Hard Luck Papa.
There are probably others that I won't remember until I press submit.

Humble opinion alert.

Excellent value for money all rounder.
They do a gnarlier one. No idea what it's like.
Um

Re: Bivvy a Month 2021
4/4 done
All a bit last minute as per usual.
Quick ride to the edge of my local forest with a riding buddy.
A bit of single-track then beer glugging and ditch lurking.
Owls a go go in the middle of the night.
Woke to a light frost. Best nights sleep all week.

My radio only plays 4 and 6.
I bet there's some other good stuff out there. Any suggestions?
I did enjoy a couple of between the ears episodes off of bbcr3 that were linked via w.a.y.l.t.n?
Hundreds of internet radio stations...,

Saw a large wild boar on last Sunday's ride. Also a Coypu and some Deer. Various birds of prey but I'm rubbish at identifying them.
