Garmin gpx troubles. Advice needed!

I have an old Edge 810. I've been using it for a couple of months for navigation. The longest ride I've done was about 100km using a gpx provided by the event organiser. The turn by turn direction and map navigation worked fine. Anyway i planned a little route this morning on Komoot and transferred ...

Re: Gravel bike clothing

I have a couple of pairs of Madison Roam shorts that don't look out of place in the pub. They have a slight herringbone pattern. On the top I opt for a cotton mix or 'tech' fabric casual tee that looks civilian but doesn't hold sweat.

Underneath are hidden bib shorts...

Re: Which 2nd hand bike computer?

I recently picked up a Garmin Edge 810 for £50. It's been really good, but it is the first bike GPS that I've had so i have no comparison.

Re: Not getting out there, wasting time (and my life) instead

This thread strikes a lot of chords with me. Riding / fitness / motivation has really tailed off since covid, especially as my main riding buddies are unable to ride any more. I was wondering if there was any scope for a regional BB get together once a month or something where we could get some dat...

New disco slippers. Specialized Recon 1 in a dashing shade of burgundy. After 60 miles on flats on Sunday I've gone back to the dark side of SPDs. For non-bikepacking activities at least!

OSM maps for an old Garmin?

I've just picked up an ageing Garmin Edge 810 for navigation purposes. I really like it. I've uodated the maps on it using the https://extract.bbbike.org/garmin.html website and it seems to work fine, but as a total newbie to OSM maps I don't know if i have the best map? I downloaded the 'Garmin BBB...

Hi, I'm based in Farnham so not far from you. I've got a couple of adventures planned around the south east which is closer than Wales/Scotland! Drop me a msg if you want to come along to test out any kit.

I use a little silver mince pie case to catch any spills and shield the stove from the ground. It works well.

22g Stove - how much meths?

I use a BB 22g stove for overnighters and the occasional cheeky brew whilst working on site. As such I've never run out of meths and have no idea how much to take on a multi-day trip. I'm spending 4 nights in Scotland next month and i don't want to carry too much or too little. Over the trip i recko...
