^ Well looks like the BBB women have put the blokes to shame here then - well ahead of the curve, or at least on the curve!

Same here next, but like you B I shall wait until the scrapman beckons... wasteful binning something that still (just about) works...

Re: Multi-setups for multi-bikes?

In some instances, it would appear that the 'culprit' would actually be much better served by rack and panniers. I couldn't agree more. You see some bike with bags absolutely everywhere yet they are road or gravel riding. They must be highly disciplined at packing as well, either that or they spend...

Re: Pete & Reg's State Of The Nation Tour - Part 2

I haven't commented on this or part 1 yet, but that's not because I haven't thoroughly enjoyed this, but more because I just don't know what to say. It sums up everything that's great about this place. It's almost enough to make one proud to be British, which is quite an achievement. Lump in throat...

Reg, that's right about the access - as long as you are responsible about what you are doing then you are able to go pretty much anywhere with some exceptions like private residences, growing crops, quarries, etc. It's ideal for your kind of escapades! :YMDAYDREAM: :YMDAYDREAM: :jealous:

Oh no, you'll start them all off again on how much better their access rights are than ours

Yes, really excellent that. Although I was expecting some sort of riff on pairs of biking neighbours showing us their well-practised dance-style riding skills  . What's brilliant is how you just let stuff happen, found answers to contrived problems, maybe go left here or maybe right but either...

Say what you like, but the moment the curtains open in a bar in the Philly on a quiet-Tuesday to reveal the titan himself bashing out the hits to a stunned bunch of punters is quite something  .

sleeping bag anti-snag zip thingy

First made one of these a while ago and posted it up. It's lasted quite a long time but I caught it on something and it pinged off. So I made a new one and took the opportunity of making it larger - it works even better. Bit of plakky milk-bottle cut out and superglued to the the zip fastener. As sa...

Re: Multi-setups for multi-bikes?

Despite have multiple versions of just about everything, I tend to nearly always use the same stuff. It's rarely anything flash and tends to comprise the simple things that just 'work'. That can be anything from a sleeping mat to a stove through to a harness. Things like tools are usually kept in a...

Sean old sparrow, you wanted to see the Ti windshield. Here's the one for the 400ml pot. Weighs 9g. As you can see it's less conical than Stu's probably much better ones  . Note the teeny-weeny 15ml fuel bottle (*). (*) you could probably convert one of those, or a slightly bigger one, into a...

The "two-nighter" setup swaps out the 400ml 75g pot for a 550ml 72g one (lighter!), the 8g stove for a 22g, 13ml 19g of fuel for 36ml 43g, 8g bowl for 15g, 50g porage for 100g, and 10g ovaltine for 20g, total: 317.7g

Right then, might as well put this here as anywhere. Have finally acquired the Ti for my new windshields and some tiny fuel bottles (15ml, 20ml, 30ml, 60ml), so I've rebuilt my "overnighter" and "two-nighter" kitchens. This all stems from buying my new Wildcat seat harness and fr...

Utter bollocks. Utterly insensitive of the fact that many people can't afford to take holidays abroad too. The normalisation of air travel is pretty crappy also. Well I personally agree with your air travel sentiments but I think one will find that comparable holidays can be a hell of a lot more ex...
