About 4 or 5 years since I started on VV, but it's stalled completely over the last 18 months or so. Maybe 3 years riding and collecting squares on and off.

Steve you overlap with pickers, he’s out your way Waves :-bd I've been sat on 29x29 for a bit now, not many to go to 30x30. I've not found towns to be too bad, Worcester and Redditch both done ok... Cheltenham was bloody dangerous though..... more near misses there than pretty much everywhere else ...

Re: Most accurate wrist HRM?

I had the same orders from the docs a couple of years ago. I’ve used a Vivoactive 3 for about 18 months, does everything I need. I was sceptical of the wrist HR but at normal rates it’s very accurate comparing closely when I’ve been hooked up to machines in hospital. Can’t really speak for higher ra...

Well I've ordered one now..... dithered last time and missed them so straight in on day one this time!

Browsing as well..... is it right that WRT entries are still open? I know it's an odd year for events but they've usually shut at some point before the event date!

Re: New shelter time!

That’s lovely Steve, but that’s a lot of beer tokens there! Aye rich, approximately one Brompton, I’m unlikely to be jumping on public transport in London in the near future so alls good, shaving 1/2 kg off the bike would cost considerably more. I justify it on account of only having one bike, it’s...

Re: WhereYouAre Ride Thing 2020

Unfinished business! I had just two of Reg's GRs to polish off last Sunday, but with my shoulder giving me increasing levels of pain I thought better to wait a little while as I had the chance. Anyways, a wee bit of road riding to start with the first bridleway off from the road straight through a g...

Re: WhereYouAre Ride Thing 2020

After 2 days and 9 from 11 refs done, I'm afraid I'm joining the bailers list today.

I've been out a few times this week, my shoulder's now protesting a bit more than I'd like so it's game over here.

No worries Reg, been down that trail a few times and it's not often like that. Bit overgrown at the moment.

Re: WhereYouAre Ride Thing 2020

Well then, bit knackered today! Another good days riding, more good weather, six GRs done today so just 2 left for tomorrow now. Just a few road miles out to the 1st point today. It was at the bottom of a 16% bank.... I've spent the last two days trying to decide whether to go up it or down it. In t...

Re: WhereYouAre Ride Thing 2020

Many thanks from me as well to Reg for the grid refs at pretty short notice after a last minute decision (and Regs' persuasive way). I did three refs today, like John one of these was regularly visited on my bike commute when I did that years ago. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49870410587_7cac...

Re: WRT original weekend (Fri 8th & Sat 9th May) back garden camp out

Sent  Thanks Reg! Normally I'd plot and do routes on the PC, but this time I've dug out my old Romer (anyone else got one of those?) and plotted the points the old fashioned/proper* way. I'll make up routes as I go! Just hope the pub doing takeout is open today! * - delete as appropriate!

Re: Islabike servicing

The BB sounds like it could be a cup and cone model, IIRC the notched ring is a lockring - uses the same tool as a fixed wheel lockring. There's not much sealing in there, but it can just be stripped and cleaned and then rebuilt. I'd swap it for something like a UN55 cartridge BB, probably less than...

Re: WRT original weekend (Fri 8th & Sat 9th May) back garden camp out

If I'm not too late, I'm in for this! Reg has kindly offered to provide a selection of GRs for me, in best LHC form I'll ignore most of them and make a route up. I have suggested a couple of refs that may (or may not) correspond to pubs that are doing take away food.... I may (or may not) use one or...

Re: Not the day I'd hoped for....

Many thanks chaps for all the messages. I had a good long chat yesterday with the PC that saw me at the time of the incident, he’s coming out to me this week for a full statement. The car and occupants are “known” to them, there’s other leads that they have and connections to other offences as well....
