Hiya, has or does anyone use the ST&G adventure map of UK for their BP treks ?
I came across it on the OS site, it looks ok and may save buying multiple OS maps for one trek ,
Cheers

Stolen Sonders
Hiya , I’ve read on a local forum a family had their garage invaded and two Sonders nicked , A dark coloured Evol and a polished alu Transmitter , He’s gutted. Obviously targeted by robbers , any way the house is in the Richmond u Thames area, I just thought I’d put it on here in case one pops up th...

Re: Bike for a “Lump of a Lad “ !!
I think the Stache would be a bit exxy for him at the price I saw on Evans, but the Trek Roscoe may suit , I’m going to let him have a bomb around Richmond Park on my Lapierre and see if he likes the MTB set up ,

Re: Helmets.
I have had a brain buckets over the years , the one I do really like is the Bontager wave cell, supposedly better protection a a sort of crumple zone liner , but I do find it well light and well ventilated, the chin strap has a magnetic catch , all in all a bit exxy but ok by me

Re: Smart Sam Tyres
In what way? Were they just slow, or did you not have any traction?
Just like to say they are 650b 2.25 s
Yes , the traction not as good , although they are a bit nobbly, the WTB ‘s ate the mud trails , even when almost up to the axles , I think the Sams were about 24 sobs delivered for the pair ,

Smart Sam Tyres
Hiya, when I bought my MTB it had WTB Trail Boss’s on it , which were everything I’d have expected in the mud , however, I really think , unless I go looking for it blasting through deep swampy-mud trails I do not really need them , they are are bit heavy going on the hard stuff and slow ,also I fou...

Re: What axle do I need ?
That wheel with hub has long gone, so that’s it I suppose , it did not have a rotor adapter either , so ,..... I’ll probably go for a hub that will suit the forks I get for it , I’ve got two idrive frames, my favoured one does not have a disc mount on the rear , so that’s a thing for another day so ...

Re: What axle do I need ?
That wheel is a Sun-Ringle Inferno 27, I got it off eBay to replace the one on the GT , the rim had worn out , I dug out this photo of the bike about 2013-14, as you can see the forks are Marchozzi Bombers and if you look ‘ at the hub you can make out ‘20’ and a large skewer cap, i remember now it h...

Re: What axle do I need ?
Thanks for replies, mmm, it’s not very straightforward is it , so........ on the 8th Feb I’m booked onto a wheel building course, I think my best option is to maybe change the hub to a normal QR or thru axle that will fit the forks that I get for that bike ,
Thanks again fellas !

260033B0-78C1-4656-8C04-C9A0A8831F30.jpeg Hiya I bought a set of wheels for my 97’ GT idrive got to be 4 years ago, but never got around to building the bike up, anyway I have decided that I may get on with it , but I can’t for the life of me remember what the axle should be , or if I can adapt the...

Re: handlebar question
Thanks for replies, my old MTB had about 650mm bars from memory, but that was a 26er, I’ll take 20off and see how I travel, I have a bad right arm that is so bent now due repetition from my work , it is noticeably 6’’ shorter than the left , so after an hour or so the tendinitis kicks in and makes i...

handlebar question
Hiya. are flat handlebar widths worked out by design. ie size of wheel to bar width, or can it go to personal preference ?, my MtB had 740's on when i got it, but I hacked 20mm of each end , im still not happy with them. Its got 650 b wheels, so if I hacked another 20/25 mm off each end and reduced ...

I’ve been fitting new components to Lapierre , 11-50 t Sunrace , XT deraileur and shifter , I needed to put an extender to keep the jockey wheel off the cassette, I’m just having a bit of a mare fettling the indexing though , I’ll have another look at it tomorrow, also some Ritchey bar ends to go on ,

Re: Favourite bike of 'all time'?
A GT XCR I drive, when I first bought it second hand , I took it to a Lbs and paid good money for a very bad service, not happy about being ripped soI decided to buy some tools and do all my own jobs on it , so now the bike is not in use but now bike riding and fettling has become my fav pastime !

Re: The post man's been ...
Ill have to wait and see how it all goes but im sure i have a spare wolfs tooth extender knocking about , I read a couple of reviews re fitting a 50t , it seems to be ok but a few problems on some frames, you can just go with the SLX shadow plus thats on it already according to some, ill throw a pos...
