Re: The sun shines on the righteous.
I'm going to say this quietly so as not to jinx it but ... I assume you've seen the forecast for weekend? Sunshine and temps approaching double figures. Completely unheard of and I believe an undeniable sign that bikepackers are indeed, God's chosen people. the weather is tormenting, as a cat with ...

Re: shimano disc pads with fins .....worthwhile??
Ordered the Dura Ace Ice Tech rotors and a job lot of "standard" pads from Rose Bikes in Germany.
Even with shipping from Germany the order was significantly cheaper than the UK.
Thanks all.

shimano disc pads with fins .....worthwhile??
My new shimano disc brakes have pads fitted with fins. There is a vast difference in price without and without fins Resin: 5.50Euro without fin, 12.95Euro with fin :o Metal: 12.90Euro without fin, 21.90Euro with fin  So, in the real world, are fins necessary? (I am a tight arse from Yorkshire...

WRT, Le Jog, then "this is not a tour 400" should pretty much finish me off.
In all seriousness though, don't think I'd be good enough for HT550, some of those rides look amazing.

400A BR entered so I can hold Dyffers up on the overnight section. "Don't worry, we know what we're doing" said Chris n to the Police once upon a wet 400 just outside Brecon at 1am Sunday morning, as I shivered in the drizzle thinking the exact opposite. Good times  we know wh...

It's that time of year to get thinking about winter tents. I doubt my Lunar Solo would cut it in deepest winter or very high winds. What light weight 1 person alternatives are out there please? I like the Terra Nova Southern Cross One. That said, how high is "very high winds" Otherwise a ...

Gravel "Le Jog"
Considering Le Jog for next year; likely April /May time In order to give it a Bear Bones twist I would like to use as many gravel tracks as possible.
