Read that article and wonder what if anything it really told anyone :???:

Stu - a bikepacking version of the ultimate hang book would make you a rich man. I'd do it if I knew enough

Re: Feeling the cold more as you get older?

It's basic anatomy principles. Being a PORG you've got a surface area to volume ratio equivalent to a field mouse and therefore loose heat more easily and don't eat enough to keep fueled.*

Re: Your bikepacking bike

My mate bought one with a Rohloff to do some insane trans-continental tour (think it was England to Africa but could be wrong). He sacked it in Portugal for various reasons. Bike weighed an empirical ton. My imnpression was that it was built very much for durability and performance when fully loaded...

I need a special bike for it? Ah bugger, no one told me

It's all just about going for a ride with enough gear to not die overnight, AFAIK.

Re: The post man's been ...

It's missing you but I've been looking after it ;-) Shall I post it so you've actually got it? We can still hook up at some point but I'm off to the Pyrenees late March so a pass beforehand, what with other commitments, is a bit tricky. What with this mild weather you could probably be using it

Re: For the hammockists.

Great idea, insane prices IIRC. Ukhammocks do tentsile(sp?) stuff that is similar though on a smaller scale. They seem to need ratcheting up to give enough floor rigidity which seems like greater faff and scope for it going wrong compared to the simplicity of a more regular hang. Would live to try e...

Nowt exciting but an Alpkit delivery: Hunka XL bivi bag to replace / be another choice compared to the 20+ year old Phoenix Gore Tex bivi bag. Bivi's get not a lot of use TBH as I'd rahter hang but variety is the spice of life, etc etc. 2x big net bags for storage of UQs. Why don't the blinking thin...
