Re: Dynamo Light of choice - fork mounted gravel use mid range
I had the seatpost mounted Son for a little while. Sold it on and am using the mudguard mounted Secula after riding behind a friend with one. Seems brighter and to throw more light out, but maybe that's just the positioning. Feel more confident with the Secula now anyway.

Re: FS: 29+ wheelset - Hope Pro 2 Evo/Rabbit Hole/Dirt Wizard
I've seen a few similar wheelsets go for ~200, so say 100 for rims and tyres? Guess postage might be a tenner on top of that. Looks like I should have a bit of time to clean them up on Saturday and will get some photos.

Re: FS: 29+ wheelset - Hope Pro 2 Evo/Rabbit Hole/Dirt Wizard
Just an observation - if these wheels still fit one of your bikes (or, indeed, some of the components do) consider hanging onto them for a while. The components shortages we're now experiencing are likely to get worse for a while and you might regret not having workable spares in your garage. Don't...

SOLD! 29+ wheelset - Hope Pro 2 Evo/Rabbit Hole/Dirt Wizard
SOLD SOLD SOLD Hope Pro 2 Evo laced to polished Rabbit Hole rims. Brand new steel freehub. 3" Dirt Wizards are set up ghetto tubeless (lot of gorilla tape) and have plenty of life left. Few scratches here and there but no dings in the rims. I reckon the tyres are probably full of cow/sheep sub ...

Re: More things that fly than usual?
Encountered swarms of flying ants up the top of Shutlingsloe (edge of the Peaks) yesterday. Usually busy, especially when the sun's out. Can see why no one was sticking around though. You could see them swarming and there was a constant mosquito-esque drone round the trig.

Re: Wide bottle cage options?
I picked up a Widefoot Litre cage from Keep Pedalling the other day. Klean Kanteen goes in easily but seems fairly secure. Was a bit worried when it was rattling about as crashed my my way up and over Salter Fell. Thought it might have been using 2 bolts instead of 3 to secure it, turns out I hadn't...

There is/was an MK3 on eBay recently. Was a full bike but you might do ok parting it out if the bits are in reasonable condition given that no one can buy new bike stuff at the moment.

This all got a bit confusing, but the jackets are all gone. Sorry for anyone who missed out or I've not got back in touch with.

What size sweetroll would you be after? Been thinking about parting ways with mine and going for something with a harness instead.

If it's silver, it's steel. 160g is about right. The alloy ones are gold and weigh in around 80g.

My Haro Mary SS. Something about it I just like, hence still got it. I had one of those for a bit. I don't think I really appreciated how good it was until I picked up another one of Mike's creations. Mary with seat tube repair and pink splatter paint. https://assets-atk.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com...

WTD: Paul love lever compact + WTB Ranger 26x2.8s
Long shot but anyone got a pair of black compact love levers gathering dust in the shed? Got a set of motolites here and after levers to match.
Also looking for a set of folding/tubeless WTB rangers in 26x2.8 - fast and light, tough and slow, I'll take whatever at this point.
Thanks!

I think I rode past Rich and Tom (and the rest of the fam) in Hayfield earlier. Took me a minute to figure out who it was, and by that point we were grunting up Highfield Road.

Nitto F16 probably. Hooks over the handlebar rather than mounting on the stem.

Re: Dynamo Light of choice - fork mounted gravel use mid range
Just like the waterproof thread, I'll second James' suggestion. I've got a Revo and the Edelux, the latter has been fine for road/bridleway bumbling, despite clipping the occasional low branch/bramble and once taking a bat to the face. The Revo can be mounted at fork height after a few pints of tea,...

Re: Heavier Duty "Packable" Jacket
Another vote for one of Gore's Active Shell offerings. Used to have an Oxygen 2.0 for winter audax stuff, kept me dry on some very long, wet days. Packed size was pretty compact. Seem to remember it folded/rolled better than it stuffed. Marmot Essence served me well in NZ, although not as breathable.
