Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Garmin Edge Explore renewed £99.98 (!) I bought a renewed one and couldn't tell it from a retail one, it came with all the mounts, papers, etc. The only difference was the box was a plain Garmin one. Garmin Edge Explore Touchscreen Touring Bike Computer with Connected Features, White (Renewed) https...

Re: Kiddy Back tandem vs weehoo trailer thoughts

Thanks for all of your replies. I think in conclusion the tandem will be better for commuting and road stuff (which will probably suit us more often) but the weehoo better off road. Is it wrong to want both? and also, don't forget a spare tube for the weehoo! Not sure I'd find a trailer latched ont...

Re: Kiddy Back tandem vs weehoo trailer thoughts

I had a big dummy which was great, front wheel in the panniers and towed the bike on a QR mount on the rear deck and child in the Yep seat. Tried using a trail gator but it was just heavy junk and proper faff to use without scratching everything imho. I'd use it only if both bikes to be joined were ...

Re: How much grief can I expect?

In the (almost) 30 years I've been driving I've had 14 "daily drivers" and two T5s make up almost 10 of those years so they can't be all that bad! My first T5 was a 54 plate that I had between 2014-2019 and only sold it because a mate was selling his ten year newer T5.1 which I stil...

IIRC the bike firm was bought out by the company that made the UK sheet metal bikes. Hopefully it's just the bike side and not the whole firm that's in trouble.

Re: Would this work?

I'd stick your mat in it. At a guess, under won't stop an uninsulated mat losing heat, on won't double the insulation effect but mat in will help a bit and also keep your mat clean.

Re: sorry to ask again but Wahoo or Garmin ?

Are you sure you can't transfer from a chromebook to your Garmin? You might not be able to use the garmin software but you can drag a gpx from a chromebook folder to a garmin. I've only had chromebooks since 2015 and create routes in ridewithgps or komoot and have transferred them to my garmin 810 a...

I wonder why 29+ has faded out... Much like Fat Bikes I guess most people that want one have bought one so if no one is buying them... Having said that the Pirelli Scorpion 29x2.6 on my Levo look as beefy as the Knards on my old Krampus. They have the added bonus of gripping in the wet! So have the...

The decathlon ones are good for the money, the Crikey, how much ones are great if you can catch a sale (like now). There was also mention on STW that Altura have their Esker trews for £37 and Planet X have the On-Ones in the sale (they look to have decent pockets, etc.) and you can bundle them with ...

Did they try and sell? Seems odd to wind down and close even with the issues in the industry Interesting link on STW. Both Isla & Tim are Quakers and as such aren't out to extract every last penny from the business. Also, they aren't closing are they, just not making more bikes and will continu...

Never had a problem with Oasis tablets. You could always take one of those mini concentrated squash bottle to hide it, or an isotonic tablet.

Can only speak for the Norwich branch of Evans but there was a massive pile of all sorts of 5-10s in a range of sizes. Might be worth a trip if you have one near by.
