I had to double-check the day there, I'm very much still on the right hand side of this diagram.

Re: Today's Run

A run/walk/scramble up and around the Ercall and Wrekin today. Approx 12km/660m. Great views at the top when I wasn't nearly being blown over. I won't have set any speed records, but when I wasn't desperately scrabbling for grip on the steep bits, it was lovely to be moving. https://www.instagram.co...

Reminds me of a friend of my grandfather whose approach to getting directions was to point in the direction he thought he should be heading, then ask, "La piscine,* oui ou non?"

Well done Dave, and get well soon Dee. Cheery here, as one of the bairns has been awarded "Student of the term" by the head of year. This seems to be down to being a nice person, friendly and.polite, rather than academic prowess, though he's doing just fine on that front too. Very proud of...

I gathered that from your max clearances. My recommendations are based on what I've been using on my Cotic Escapade over the last 7 years.

Re: Recommended me a tyre :)

Have a look at the reinforced sidewall version of the WTB Resolutes. The grip is good for everything but thick mud, way better than lighter tread tyres like G-One Allrounds, Teravail Cannonballs etc. They roll pretty well too, not.awful.on.the road, and not too squirmy. Regular sidewalls are a bit f...

Really liked that James. For all the Achilles-related tribulations and dodgy bivvies, there's a real sense of the freedom that comes with having nothing to do except ride, eat, sleep. I'm feeling the need to get something (un)planned in the diary.

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

December and the calendar year ticked off. Optimism overruled the weather forecast, and I bimbled out into a mild and dry evening. I scoped out a new spot, and it was pretty nice. However, it was far too windy, and despite a decent tarp pitch, there was a lot of flapping and a resultant crappy night...

Hope it all heals up nicely Reg. Last night, we were reminiscing about the time Granny P had her retina repaired by the surgeon using a syringe to introduce a little air bubble into her eyeball. The bubble floated up inside the vitreous humour, and held the tear in place as it healed. Unfortunately ...
