Re: Peak Bank Holiday Trip

Doing an overnighter from my home into the peak next week and those pics have got me properly fired up for it now :D

Just out of interest what was your route? I recognise Stanage causeway but not the bivi spot, it looks like good one.

Re: May be of interest to someone

I think I prefer the set up Stu was reviewing on his blog from NZ - freepack or something?

Waiting to see if someone brings it into the UK before chancing the Customs lottery

Re: What does your bike weigh and do you care?

On your Fargo I'd go for some better wheels, Deore's being right clunkers Too right, first thing on shopping list when I can get approval from the other half ;) stock weight of Fargo is supposed to be 27lb so 31ib came as a bit of a shock!! We're usually accustomed to carting our own weight around,...

Re: What does your bike weigh and do you care?

Surely it's more about how much the gear weighs that you're carrying? And yes I care :? Isn't it bout the total weight your peddling/pushing? S8tnnorm, don't get me wrong I luv my Fargo and not about to change. But recently been getting obsessed on how to save weight, spured on by your write up of ...

Kind of put the weight was looking at saving by switching from gas to meths into perspective. I run bb7s, jonesbars, thumbs with xt drivetrain, deore wheels a...

Re: BB5 or BB7

Personally, whilst I like the BB7s I have on the Gryphon I don't think they're as good / easy / low hassle / well balanced as good hydraulics. Might just be I'm a mechanical clutz and/or using with road levers. Have to agree with cheeky monkey on that one, but if your a mechanical numbty like me wh...

Re: BB5 or BB7

I reckon the modulation issue is down to pads as much as anything, the ones that have come with my fargo are quite grabby, where as the ones I had in my kona ss (from superstar I think) we really nice. For me it improved dramatically with lever change. Originally ran my Fargo with drops and Dia-com...
