Half fat?

Anyone tried it? for general trail riding and bikepacking?

Looks like you need a 29er rear wheel to make it work so I'd be into a new bike anyway...

Re: Three Days In The Scotish Borders

The descent into Peebles is called Gypsy Glen, I managed to hit 27mph down there with all my bikepaking gear on before common sense kicked in

What's the Minch Moor bothy like Ray? It's another option for the December Gala, we would ofcourse arrive by a very roundabout route

Re: Grips

ESI chunky here too, very nice I recently switched to mary bars on my rigid bike to and they seem much better for my wrists than the easton ea70 that I had on it before...I have had to put up with lots of shopping basket and mary poppins slagging though Also 2.4 ardent front tyre (26" on mine) ...

Re: What do you do for brewing real coffee?

I'd rather drink my own piss than instant coffee  I'm gonna try the cowboy method as I've never found a bag that makes a coffee anywhere near strong enough to make it drinkable and not sure I can be bothered to carry anything extra. Usually just stick to Earl grey (or sunshine grey or lady ...

Re: What tyres for bikepaking?

I really like the 2.4 ardent on the front at a nice low pressure 23psi ish, hums a bit on the road but when it comes to mud it's night and day better than a 2.25 ardent It's a pretty big volume tyre btw However, even the folding version is 815g, the wire one must be so heavy things will go into orbi...

Re: The "default" bikepacking bike/crossover bikes

I've pretty much decided that with a few small change overs in equipment my 853 Inbred does pretty much anything rather well, even with 26" wheels. It's played at long travel hardtail with beefy wheels and 130mm forks (I now have a Kona Dawg for playing) goes bikepacking with faster tyres, rigi...
