Re: Ham Curious

So I have taken the plunge and spent big and wisely, I mean how bad can it really be!!!!!! https://share.temu.com/B3cdxdOrVdA I want to make a new sup bag and this is far cheaper then the material would have been. If a hammock and all the bits actually turn up, then bonus. It also says it’s a double...

Thanks for the offer Paul, but I am on the South Coast. Will ask about and see if anybody locally has one I could borrow to try out.

Re: Ham Curious

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think we might try one for Jen to sleep in as she could have my x therm and quilt in to and I can floor dwell. I have go in the habit of just taking my bivi bag and a mat unless it’s really cold. Just got to find the most suitable hammock for her now, as my ground g...

Ham Curious

Since adding SUPs to the water garage, Jen has been much more interested in overnight camping trips. On option for travelling light on a sup, seems to be hammocks. What’s the score as I have never tried them, always having been a tent/tarp/bivi person? I also am a front/side/sleeper, so would it eve...

Re: Bike musings sonder camino vs colibri vs onone freeranger

If you want to ever head off road then the Camino is great. It’s very very capable off road as well as being able to humble roadies with easy. I have di2 in a road bike and it’s great. The only concern with it is that it can be expensive if damaged, I would love it on a next gen Camino, but to be ho...

Re: Audax Tips?

Well that was a warm one!! I can certainly recommend the onshore new forest audax. It was a lot smaller than the other one I did in the Surrey Hill, only 30 plus people this time. It was a lot more relaxed organisation wise and the route had a slight short cut at the end that saved 3km, but was 1km ...

That would be great, if they still have it I can do a click and collect for you. Next time you are heading that way let me know.

Many thanks

Re: Ludlow

I'm not sure of the requirements, depth / flow wise for SUP ... plenty of opportunity at Ludlow where the Teme has some weight.... north of Bromfield things get shallower though the Teme would still be fine, the Onny would be too shallow I think I guess 1ft ish depth and slow flowing. Will research...

Re: Ludlow

The house we will be looking after in in a small hamet just north of Ludlow, so most of the places you guys have suggested won't be far off.

Is the river any good for SUP boarding on? We were thinking about bring them rather than rigid kayaks.

Cheers

Re: Audax Tips?

Howdy Folks! The "Official" route for Sunday's Audax has been sent round and with an optional gravel detour/shortcut, it's coming in at 102km and just under 700m. Weather forecast is looking reasonable, so I'm hoping to move a bit quicker on this one and be done in time for the Arsenal v M...

That first picture reminds me of the my first Winter event. The hill down into Dylife Star "sanded" through my drybag and brand new quilt as I "dropped" into a low profile position. I thought the burning smell was a fire somewhere nearby. A Mudhugger is a good way to prevent thi...

Re: DIY Ghetto Tyre Inserts

Will keep you all posted. The ventures have been very easy to fit and seal, needs a lot of force to break the bead to remove, but it’s doable. Hopefully they will arrive before next week’s Audax, which will be a good test of them on.

Normally I use the Camino with 650x47's (WTB Ventures currently) or the Vir Fortis on 26.4 (JJ's). I have a really nice set of DT Swiss XR race 29' wheels for the Vir and currently have a set of 29x2.1 Racing Ralphs on them. I have only used them for a couple of rides, but one burped off the rim and...
