Re: Are we "cool" now... and for how long
Doubt it makes anyone cool but it's interesting how outdoorsy brands like TNF, Patagonia (to some extent) and Canada Goose have all become massive in urban circles

Re: Chilterns route advice
Being cheeky but I'd be fair chuffed to see some more local routes (hopefully new to me) if it is not too much bother. Sure, happy to help. Easiest is for me to share some recent Strava tracks for you to have a look at. Recently we've been riding from Henley out the Ridgeway to the West Berkshire B...

Re: bikepacking in the Elan Valley
As much as I appreciate a good write up, photo set and some route info.. most videos of riding said route just don't hold my attention. I'd rather leave it a bit of a mystery and get out there eventually, rather than watch some youtube esq vlog. Still props to Tom (interesting attire aside) as he is...

Re: Yay, it's cheery Friday.
At last a cheery friday! As have finally finished all aspects of harvest 2019, my wheat crop hit the specification for localish mill so a few more pennies, all sheds are full of straw and luckily nothing decided to just stop working at the most annoying moment. Basically the weather can now do what ...

Re: Chilterns route advice
I live and ride around the Chilterns, based in Henley. There are plenty of trails, but you kind of need to know them to link them together in a sensible way. I've got a bunch of routes gathered over the years I can email if you are interested. Being cheeky but I'd be fair chuffed to see some more l...

Depending on which part of the Chilterns you're heading out from.. I ride a lot around the Southern end which you can patchwork so nice chalk/bridleway/mud loops.

WNTD - Profile clip on aero bars or similar
Basically looking for some clip on aero bars, something in the vein of the Profile offerings. Ideally non full loop shape.
Have you previously experimented and now have some lying around that you'd care to part with!?
Many thanks!

Have ridden (dirt toured) a bunch in that area and would go back to many areas in an instant, if only I could find the time in life again. With that bit more experience of bike setup it would be super fun. A pretty frightening amount of climbing, indeed also quite frightening was the earlier quoted ...

Re: Saddles; Any Brooks users?
I rode a b17 on a two year trip and got on great with it. Due to the nature of the trip (humidity and my rough treatment) it's retired now and moved on to C17s. I do rate the original C17s, though the (denim?) material with wet conditions + road grit does eat lycra shorts. Also I have a slate which ...

Some interesting collections. I seem to keep hold of bikes and collect 'projects' far too much. I have a big shed which similarly a curse Aside from different projects, (old polo bike, bmxes and tall bike experiments) this is my current stable. Orange p7 - black , 2010 era?, set up singlespeed. Five ten shoe sizing
How do people find the fitting on five ten shoes? Do they run wide or narrow?
Does anyone have any other flat pedal shoe recommendations (for wide feet)
Thanks!

FWIW, I'm impressed at her not mentioning the name of the young male rider who took kit from his film/support crew. Sad to hear TBH. Re: Tour Divide 2019
Fascinating how the last 24hrs has shook everything up. From my understanding the gang at the Lodge seem to of missed the weather window. With a few riders up and over I'm surprised someone hasn't made an attempt in the light of day to HAB the mud/snow and get past the limbo. Or is it simply not pas...

Re: Tour Divide 2019
From the photos of Sofiane that have been posted on the bikepacking.net forum it looks like he's not wearing bib shorts (I thought these were the staple for all serious cyclists, and personally haven't done a proper ride in anything else for a very long time). Also he seems to have a baseball cap o...

Interested to see how the riders with several years of TD experience pans out against the more 'rookies'. I wonder how hard the navigating element is? Sleep deprivation sure i...
