Meh.
An overnighter will usually be one ride. Multi-day will be multiple single-day rides, usually.
I think I'm inclined to "restart" a ride once I've had a decent night's sleep/wash/feed.

Re: what carbon bike - or Ti
Worth keeping an eye on Planet X sales around xmas/NY for stupidly good deals in their sales. I know I'm not the only rider of this parish that's picked up a Titus Fireline frame off there for a hefty discount. It's a lovely bit of metal to ride. edit - and as if by magic... https://www.planetx.co.u...

Re: Xlite vs Xtherm
Think my XLite's 5 years old now. It's probably the only piece of my kit that's been on every single one of my bikepacking/hiking/whatever trips over that period.
Light, compact and always seems to be warm enough (in a British winter at least).

Good lathering of antiseptic hand sanitiser before you set off and at a couple of intervals through the day.
or
Spare pair of gloves.
or
Just don't give a hoot what people think about your glove smell. Like anyone cares about that.

The look that Guy Pierce gives at the end of the film . err Vigo Mortenssen? Nope, he's *spoiler* by then. It's deffo Guy Pearce. Strikes me that if I was under a tarp in the p1ssing rain in the darkness probably the last thing I'd want to be reading would be about someone else sitting under a tarp...

Re: Convert 2 x 10 to 1 x10?
I've converted a couple of old bikes without putting a great deal of science into it - bought the front ring, played about with the rear mech and it was fine in both cases. Both Shimano, one XLS and one XT but I wouldn't think the Deore will fare any worse. Worst case you'll need to put a drive-side...

The Decathlon one's decent. Some good ones on ebay from Hong Kong too.
Based on the absolute state mine's been in a few times after bivvys it's definitely worth having one to keep your bag/quilt clean.

Just a sheepskin loincloth and a liberal coating of goose fat to each leg usually does me. This also helps to mitigate any risk of chafing between my thighs and my suede saddle cover. It's important to keep your "engine" warm too so I always have a Thermos full of piping hot Heinz tomato s...

Cheers. It's a familiar story.
I'm on the cusp as I've frequently only one client at once and I'm just billing for hours. Had contracts etc looked over and I'm pretty sure I pass all the tests but it's still a concern.

Re: IR 35 tax help
Get some proper advice on it Matt. If you fck it up it will literally cost you thousands of not tens of thousands. The HMRC have been aggressive in pursuing a lot of cases. It largely boils down to your contract/terms of work - does it clearly define you as a contractor (there are a number of "...

I've had a pair of MW700's for the last two winters. Lovely boots, keep your feet proper dry and toasty warm, but the sole's split from the upper on one. Haven't worn them that much either. what you have to take into account is that you are actually taller when you lay down as the angle of your feet point forward at a 45 degree angle,im 190cm stood upright and 210 laid down on my back  Is that the same for women? I was told all women were the same size lay down. I believe som...
