Re: Which Exposure light?

Why exposure? Absolute garbage value for money IMO For me, they’re reliable and I prefer the all in one system too. They are the only light to have lasted more than two years (I commuted daily for 15 years, so used the lights a lot) I’ve managed to kill - -Hope lights (disappointing to be honest) -...

Re: All day comfortable, do-it-all waterproof trousers?

I’ve got the non cycle version of Rab Cinder (Rab Kinetic 2.0) which uses the same ‘proflex’ material. They were brilliant for a short while but leak like the proverbial sieve now. When wet, the material also feels horrible next to the skin. I really like Rab stuff but would be dubious about buying ...

Water resistant I spotted that, yet it also says 15,000HH which is more than waterproof. Dunno. I also spotted these while I was on CRC, carbon bars for £25 https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/nukeproof-horizon-carbon-riser-bars Alloy bars for £8 https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/nukeproof-ho...

Cheap "waterproof" soft shell in various colours and sizes ( never used so no idea if any good but they are cheap)

Re: Find That Bike website

Yeah I think it was only my persistence with the police that got the bike back - the theft had been logged and assigned to an officer but nothing was happening. When I tracked my bike, I called 101 repeatedly to let the police know but I never got a call back. (My bike had been sold on gumtree but I...

Re: Dropper post curious

Have had both Reverbs and Brand-x droppers on various bikes - no problems with brand-x at all, excellent value for money and haven't noticed any issue with the stock lever.

Re: Newbie bikepacking tent advice

The naturehike mongar/star river tents are pretty decent for the money - lots of space, reasonably lightweight and not too spendy.

Just do a search on Amazon

Re: Off Topic: Any got any plastering exp of tools & opinions

I did a house up years ago, quite a few of the rooms needed re-plastered do I thought I'd learn how to do it.

I ended up doing an ok job but it took me ages and the mess I made was unreal  I decided after this that paying for a decent plasterer was worth it

Re: Decent lock for bikepacking

Watched a YouTube vid of a guy testing various locks. I was really surprised at how easy some of them were to break. The combination locks didn’t even need snips - they just broke apart when the gave the bike a swift pull.

Got a GoPro for my birthday earlier in the year so decided it’s time I started using it with this nice weather. The Pentlands are only a 20 minute cycle from my door so here is a short video of one of my local loops

Re: Cinder track. Scarborough to whitby

I've done most of it with the kids when they were still young, surface seemed fine as far as I remember (although I don't remember it being paved apart from the first bit in Scarborough). Depending on age/bike fitness, could be a bit of a slog for kids. Dalby Forrest is also not far away and has som...

I never understood the point of waterproof shorts, how to you stop your socks/shoes getting soaked More for when splashing through puddles and when it's wet on the ground but not raining.as my arse stays dry. Waterproof socks or just get wet feet if proper wet but cold is the enemy not water so dep...
