WTB Balance bike
Looking for a balance bike for my grandson, not in a rush as he’s only just started walking a few weeks ago so I’m just putting the feelers out now.

Re: Hanging bikes by wheels
All mine are hung by wheels, I normally top and tail them to avoid bar clashes. The only one that is always hung by the rear wheel though has a carbon fork. Not had any issues after 15 years other than bubbles migrating through the hydraulic brake systems but that sorts itself out with a few pumps o...

Re: Thank you ...
I wouldn’t of missed the weigh in unless it was serious😉. Gutted to not be riding more than a few hours on Saturday, found some really “interesting” routes that I certainly won’t be using on a loaded bike. Anyhow, leaving early, it meant I could attend the British judo National championships where m...

Re: WRT GR
A couple of other questions... [*] Will I die going down The Mark of Zoro on a fully loaded gravel bike...? A few of us did mark zorro a couple of years ago fully loaded, I was on a fully ridgid mtb, it was good fun, however I did put a small buckle in my rear wheel. It’ll be doable but you might w...

Re: Wide opening bivi bags
Just got an email from the girl at alpkit, the waterproof zip will cost £50 fitted and the non waterproof zip with storm flap will be approx £70.
She can fit me in mid may .

Re: Wide opening bivi bags
Think I might as the ideal standard bivi doesn’t seem to exist.
We also talked about bug netting in the opening which would cost the same again.
I mentioned a regular, big toothed zip with storm flap but that was going to be about £50-ish

Re: Wide opening bivi bags
Closest so far, although I’ve not managed to get to alpkit to see if they’ll modify. I asked this a few years ago and they said no as too busy. I do however have a largish piece of red Hunka material that they sold me. I was going to get an outdoor equipment repairer to cut up the Hunka and put a z...

Re: Wide opening bivi bags
If you want a new event one with a long zip, then I *think* the Mld Soul is the only game in town. My family got me one for Christmas and after a couple of bivy a month uses so far, I'm liking it.... Especially the very long zip. I'm less keen on the fairly small mesh window, but it gets the job do...

Re: Wide opening bivi bags
More waterproof than the usual Borah lightweight bags is more preferable as it might not be used with a tarp. Carinthia do one but its 300 euro's and the zip doesn't go down as far as I'd like. Mil-tec do pretty much what it wan't but it's bloody heavy, 1.3kg Must be muted colours too as I'm not a h...

Wide opening bivi bags
I’ve got 3 bivi bags but I can’t stand the top entry, does my head in and was wondering if anybody’s found a large size bag with a side zip that goes from shoulder to knee?
