It's very near to the top of your route, but Robin Wood near Ticknall would be good. Also, Anchor Church isn't far from your route.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anchor_Church Quite possibly, this being what the doctor ordered. Thanks :-bd... Lets say I wanted something ordered and recieved quickly. To make ground coffee (would probably be carrying my grinder) but with slightly less faff...

What'd be your go to option. I'm thinking tentatively about a mini hario (cone) and just carrying lots of spare filter papers...

Thoughts (please)

I was meaning 5th or 6th at the full route. Edge is one of the milder climbs (I think)... :o

Re: Anyone know any decent bivy spots along this stretch (between Ashby Le Zuch + Lieghton B)

Good point about the fosse, horrible road. As a bonus the southam route avoids sun rising hill which is a challenge after a long ride, I remember it destroying me after a 130 mile day on the dummy. Aha... Sunrise hill... you must be talking of Edge Hill. Thats dialled firmly into the route (and it'...

Anyone know any decent bivy spots along this stretch (between Ashby Le Zuch + Lieghton B)

Somewhere that's a bit secluded, not far from the road etc etc. PM me if that works better. Very much appreciated

Please, thanks

Easier to get a close up picture of em. They love they CO2 we waste and they're just generally all round lovely creatures. If anyone wants to post up the trees they spot and a bit about them, then that would be amazing  My first tree is (watch this space). Idea taken from the audax Bristol ch...

Yes, Thrush or female Blackbird ... hard to say as it's obviously under water  Yeah, it is a rubbish camera is it not... Well, there we have it (mistle) thrush or female blackbird. Too large to be a tawny pipit and the skylark don't come this far it seems... Thanks 'Wildlife-pros'... :-bd

Turned up for work somewhere in the Midlands, but the shift had been cancelled. That's amazing... Maybe it's high time someone ran a 'how many (decent but varied) photos can you take in one ride' competition...

I think I need to show off my own 'around dewsbury' or 'around Huddersfield' (or both) ride soon

Anyone got a link so I can get more info on RTTS and past events. I think I remember the idea (ride through the night to greet the sunset right) but an old old thread might be helpful for those that don't quite get it

Been feeling a bit left out of this here thread, so after the missus gave me an ultimatum to get the loft ladder in and get sorting the storage/micro room up there, I got my mate Ali round... We fitted the loft ladder. But that wasn't good enough for her... You're 'not going out bivying until you've...

This is a very nice idea and would it be ok to suggest somewhere central? But where is the centre of the UK then? Le Google shows up a few choices near Dunsop Bridge, Lancashire. I do like Lancashire. But hang on a moment. Reg .... Reg ... Reg ...Reg ... Reg Reg will know. Its somewhere near Burnle...

May be a Bramblings Shaf, they can hang around in large groups and in trees. I just checked (bramblings)... Nah, these were definitely black n white... I think Pied Wagtails or simply zebra finches (assuming that zebra finches look black n white)... I might need to get out my bird book later
