To a degree it's what naturally happens ... the foot which is trailing becomes unweighted so it doesn't try to counteract the other foot which is pushing down. Bike moving side to side is a sign of this happening. Why is the bike moving side to side good?

Re: BB200 rider list
List has fallen down to page 6 on the forum but it's been continually updated as people have come and gone. I'm sure it'll continue to change but just take a look and let me know if something isn't quite right.

Go on then ... what's on your head?
Might as well seeing how we've done feet and hands.

Re: Rides in North West Wales? (Not Snowdon!)
So is that Pont Scethin link that I posted basically what you're talking about? This one: http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=rcg ... nmoelrpmkv Yeah that's pretty much it, they're starting from a different point though, not that it matters ... I'd still go anti-clockwise and WTF is it called a 'Ki...

You could do something nice using Dolgoch and Ty'n cornel as overnight stops ... both lovely places.

Re: Lock
It would be nice if this was true, but bothies get vandalised and mountain rescue team vehicles get stolen from far more remote locations than where I go on my microadventures in Shropshire. That's because there's no one there to stop the idiots. I very much doubt anyone would start to rip the door...

Re: Rides in North West Wales? (Not Snowdon!)
The track you've linked to is locked but if it's the one I'm thinking of around Capel, I'd avoid it.
What you need is Pont Scethin ... I prefer it anti-clockwise meself and you can start from Barmouth.

Interesting, early days I suppose as it doesn't seem too clear whether it'll be run on the self supported principles we know and love or more along the lines of the TCR ... I saw mention of pairs / teams.

Re: Todays ride
If I stand I move up two gears and try and stay upright while bike moves side to side but keep getting a slight pause at the bottom of a pedal stroke so there is no smooth follow through. Try shifting a couple more gears to help eliminate the dead spot. Some people find if they climb seated in the ...

Re: Fat bike curious. What would you recommend
That's bike-industry propaganda. It is Gairy but like so much in life, when enough people believe a lie it ultimately becomes the truth ... you only need peruse the internet to find people busily trying to convince themselves that a fat bike makes an ideal, year round trail bike. I know I come acro...

I use whatever the standard folding version is ... usually pay less than £20 per end.Which version of the race kings do you have. I see there is a standard and supersonic version.

Re: Can I talk about tyres? For rigid frame and forks.
They look a good tyre, good weight and a good price. But do you think they would be wide enough to take the buzz out of the trail on a rigid fork? I have them fitted F&R to my rigid Inbred with Salsa forks. As I say, they have quite a large volume so when run at the appropriate pressure certain...

Re: Fat bike curious. What would you recommend
Now that would be sensible. Are you not convinced by fat bikes? I do like them Mike BUT I'm struggling to buy into the notion that they make a good all-rounder. In certain conditions they excell, in others they're not quite so good. What Simon says about deciding what you actually want it for makes...

Re: Can I talk about tyres? For rigid frame and forks.
My favourite 'bikepacking tyre' is the Conti' 2.2 Race King. Actually comes up much bigger than you'd think, rolls very well and offers much more grip than you'd believe from looking at the tread ... the only issue is their hit and miss ability to be set-up tubeless.

Re: Blacks Sleeping bags
Looking at the Cumulus quilt, how long are they? I see in your review of the 150 that you consider them short. I'm 5'11" and do like my shoulders covered when the temperature drops. Maybe one of the Enlightened Revelation quilts, their regular size works out at £149? The Cumulus quilts aren't ...

Maybe a CX tyre for those longer trips? Although not ideal it'll probably keep you going, won't be too heavy or pack overly big.

I really don't think they're the best rims for it Nigel. Are you running Floaters? ... they seem to fall off once you drop the pressure.Nope, tubelessing the Fatty didn't go 100% smoothly
