Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I'm in desperate need of a Shimano 10 speed trigger shifter for as cheap as possible. Anyone know of any decent bargains anywhere? CRC and Merlin had a Zee for about £20 but they're both out of stock. I was doing the same last week. I went for the pair of SLX for £30 from Merlin. You could sell the...

H&M thin down jacket for £17. Orange and green (not just the awful green camo one in the link). Reasonable for the price. Small = 234g

On-one fleegle are cheap for an experiment. 720mm. I.ve stuck with them on the SS after finding their Mary bars too narrow

Ray, what's your route planned over Pentlands? I'd always been taking my HT but could take my home-built drop-bar CX/gravel-crosser thingy - would it be suitable?

Took advantage of the Planet-X / On-One 15% off offer and stocked up on winter stuff. Merino buff, socks and arm warmers. Winter overshoes and gloves. Roadie cap for under the helmet (not too sure how one wears these in real life as opposed to in Crikey, how much photo-shoots but I'll give it a go)....

Re: My last CX related Q ... honest.
A or B makes no difference in performance. A - an increased badger-lassoing risk. B - slightly lumpy feel of the cable but acceptable if positioned correctly in line with your normal hand position. edit: A - might also restrict use of a bar-mounted bag Ps use the Park Tools youtube video for how to ...

Re: Drop Bar V-Brake (Discs actually) Levers?
There is certainly less bite with mechanical discs than hydraulic discs - more similar to good V or U brakes. Midge bars are still less than 600mm at the very widest point, which is much narrower than any of my mtb bars (I run 750mm). And the levers don't actually protrude that much from the bar's p...

Fine for me with shimano mechanical discs. In fact, the outers are actually Poundland as I couldn't wait to get anything properslugwash wrote: is everyone elses disc brakes working fine with standard cable outers?

Re: Drop Bar V-Brake (Discs actually) Levers?
Converting my mtb to CX, I added On-one Midge bars instead of a normal flat/riser bar, and put on Tektro RL520 levers for the mechanical disc brakes. These are mtb-style long-pull callipers rather than short-pull road callipers. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Mt6PCyRbN8Y/Uj2doplRqpI/AAAAAAAABQY/...

Re: Q about displaying tracks - Garmin Dakota 20
Yeah, I use google earth for this at home. The Dakota 20 can display multiple tracks at once - one just needs to go into each track individually and press 'show on map' for each. I was just being lazy and wondering if there was a way around having to do this dozens of times, once for each track. The...

Q about displaying tracks - Garmin Dakota 20
I have a .gpx track that includes dozens of short tracks around the Pentland Hills.
Is there an option th 'display all on map'? It is a faff having to go into each track in turn and click 'show on map' and so I wanted to show them all in a oner

G-Form knee pads. Very thin and unbulky. I wouln't say that I didn't notice I was wearing them, but they were comfortable enough during a 25mile road cycle to Glentress , the day at Glentress, second day at Glentress, 25miles back home
