Any further suggestions on this topic? I'm close to pulling the trigger, but I know the second I do, someone will pop up with a strong reason I shouldn't have bought something...

Re: Protein Suggestions
I aim for 190g protein / day. And limit to 1900 calories / day. I tend to ensure each and every meal I eat has protein as a core, then use protein shakes to fill in the gaps. I hate the milkshake variants so use clear "cordial-esque" supplements. For natural protein sources I go for... 0% ...

Do-it-all gravel tyre
Hello. I'm looking for new tyres for my soon to be new wheelset. I'm not looking for anything niche, just good all rounders for a 50/50 split of paved and unpaved surfaces. So one tyre for everything. I'd rather avoid WTB due to very poor experiences in the past. 700c in the 45mm ish range, ideally....

Target = XXkg 06/01/23 = 85.1kg 13/01/23 = 84.5kg 20/01/23 = 84.3kg 27/01/23 = 83.7kg 03/02/23 = 84.8kg 10/02/23 = 84.4kg ... I'm wondering if it makes sense for me to continue with this thread. The reason for that is that I've realised that I no longer care about my actual bodyweight metric. My cur...

Re: What's the default GPS recommendation nowadays?
FWIW, I use an old Samsung S7 phone, in an SPconnect case (similar to quadlock, but more robust) this makes it waterproof and provides a clamping mechanism. I mount it on the stemcap on the gravel bike and stem on the fatbike. Yes i uses the SP system but the phone cradle[waterproof phone] - its in...

Re: Mtb/flat pedals
I used to use Love Mud (Alpkit) Jekyll SPD single sided pedals. Recently I've gone to flats and ditched SPDs altogether.
The Jekylls have been well used, but you're welcome to them for free if you want them ? But, if you want top quality, I'd go with the Shimano T8000s Ton recommended.

I appreciate that Stu. I'll do some measuring and let you know. It's for the carbon Poles you made me last year.

I'm rejigging some of my kit and fancy mounting my tent Poles on the underside of my downtube, using those little butterfly bracket things... https://www.bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/product/bow-tie-strap-anchors/ For obvious reasons, I'd like them in a bag to stop mud n poo, but would also like a str...

Re: How to.... Take your bike on a plane
Only done Iceland with the bike, so here's my bit... •Recommended airlines Flew with Easyjet. No issues except don't put your tent pegs or torque wrench in your hand luggage! •Excess baggage. Going out was fine as I could weigh the box at home, however on the return we (JC & me) had to pay extr...

Glasgow to Adrossan - Advice?
Hello.
For those familiar with the area, what would be the suggested route to cycle from Glasgow City centre to Ardrossan? NCN route 7? Ayr Road? Other?
Thanks

Re: 2023 - Plans, rides and things to look forward to
So I ticked off a few of my '22 ambitions, but not all. Here's the '23 list. Get to my target body weight, and / or body shape. Do the WRT, obviously. Sort my gear out to make it 3-4 season compatible and maybe start BAM. Do more bikepacking with my son. Myself and a couple of other boners plan to d...
