They say a picture paints a thousand words and these pictures certainly do tell a story. Fascinating insight into the murky world of audax. The thread title alone deserves a prize.

Swap Road Bike for a Fattie
Since I bought my gravel bike last year, I have a Merida HFS road bike sat in the garage not doing much and I fancy swapping it for a fat bike if anyone is interested. 2012 model, it's a 58cm frame, full Ultegra groupset and a only a few minor marks on the frame. I'd like a large or XL bike in retur...

Hi Ian,
I knew there were some advantages of not doing the WRT this weekend! I'll take the £50 frame bag please.
Cheers

If you don't sell these these as a bundle, I'd be interested in the mountain pants please.

Re: OMM 2016
I've done OMM's a few times before (including the biblical monsoon of 2008) and it's always a good event. Where is it this year?
However, I would rate the Saunders as a better weekend, they even sell beer at the halfway camp!

Yes, great to put faces to names (and real names as well!). The bacon sandwiches were a particular highlight.

Re: Bearstock Routes
The Welsh Government car park is free, well lit and has security cameras (although this won't do you much good as a) you don't work for WG, and b) you're parking over the weekend!), and is worth considering. There's also parking opposite the Police Station (at the school). Or there's the Mochdre Ind...

Re: Bearstock Routes
Evening all. I will be coming in from Leeds on the Friday, and am thinking of taking the Newtown Station Circular route. Just wondering if anybody else is going this way and wouldn't mind me tagging along. I should be at Newtown Rail Station around 2 or 4pm Friday afternoon, depending on which trai...

Totally agree, but it is easy to get caught up in the little things instead of just getting out there and doing it.

My mate did a Toughguy-mudrunner-myballsarebiggerthanyours-alpha male thingy event in Wolverhampton yesterday. He paid £110 for a 15km race through freezing water and electrocuted obstacles. Now that's bonkers!

Re: WRT 2016... Entries open.
It was pure carnage (a bit like the first descent on the Dyfi). The 600-odd places normally fill up within minutes every year, and I believe they were using a new entry system this year. All in all, it was a bloody disaster.

Hope you don't have the same problems as this year's Dyfi Enduro entry. That sounded horrendous.

Instead of thinking "This sounds great", but not actually confirming with anyone and then feeling annoyed when it gets cancelled because no bugger confirmed, then yes I'm in.
And beer and meat.
