Re: Stans in very wet conditions.

i think just more sealant added before any event and remember it only lasts three months and the race stuff is even less. I cannot see how a wet ride can alter the tyre - if its sealed it sealed and if air is not getting out then water is not getting in - and remember the tyre has a positive pressur...

Re: Dynamo lights

guy at work uses the revo and a dynamo and raves about it - not sure how he wires it and he is not in today Not used one myself but I do like the support of exposure - though there helmet mount is ludicrously overpriced for a piece of flimsy and brittle plastic* * guess whose helmet fell of a chair ...

Re: Where do you pack your tent?

In my gorilla cage for it weighs next to nothing and packs very small- i have an inner and an outer tent poles in the seat post - they can rattle a bit [ descents in particular] even when i have tried to wrap them to prevent this the 4 man gets strapped to the top tube - weight of this is 1.5kg but ...

Re: Aiguille bikepacking kit

How would it work on full suss frames or if you use a dropper post (or both)?
It would not work as they would just shorten and I assume [ depending on hoe they are secured ] allow the seat bag to move around as the "stability" lines went loose

Re: drilling drop bars handlebars for di2 ....anyone done it

the only place that would concern me drilling wise is near the clamp and even then one hole would not bother me- its just a wee hole and whilst i am sure an accurate machine could measure how weakened the bars are there the reality id for cycling use it will have no measurable impact

YMMV

Re: Bikepacking Spain

i also find the older i get the less i need a character building ride Yes i can survive them and cope but in all honesty none of my top ten rides had vertical rain and 40 mph head winds. Its rarely cold enough to stop me but the wind that really annoys me and deters me. Forgive me bit i dont know ab...

Re: Front end dilemma...

its just personal choice IMHO personally I dont ever ride off road with a rigid fork and if i can get away with a rigid fork i ride the CX bike anyway. yes you can ride anything on a rigid but its not as much fun or as comfortable IMHO Plenty disagree hence why its your choice can you borrow a fork ...

i use it as a reminder to do all the bike jobs i would forget - strip and service forks, cup and cone bearings etc - still not sure why I want it to be darker earlier at night in winter - its not like we are all outside farming so i fail to see the point of the change

Re: 26” on gravel bike?

it will work assuming you have clearance the only issue is BB height will be reduced As you wont exactly be going fast i cannot see any problems with this approach- Might actually do it with my Hardtail[650b/29] if it gets proper icy as they [ 26. 2.3 ice tyres]wont fit in my commuter CX bike and I ...
