Re: Garmin units and dynamo power

I think it depends on which model of Garmin you buy.
I use an Edge Explorer now (which I appreciate you're probably not likely to get), it's the first one I've had where the unit doesn't automatically shut down when the power supply is removed.

Re: Fatfighters 2019 - who's interested?

I'm in for this for 2019. I didn't post in the 2018 thread at all, probably should've as I went from 220 lbs to 188 lbs in the second half of the year. Got another stone to go, maybe more. Let's see how we go!

Re: Things that make you sad.

This makes me sad. Of all the things we've created as a race the Pork Scratching was surely destined to only ever be sold from behind the bars of Midlands pubs. But no. Maple flavour? Sea Salt? Cracked black pepper? Just wrong! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4897/45413377525_c2d3264bc6_c.jpg Pork sc...

Re: Aah bollocks.

Just a thought, are you allowed to meet at a pub, get pissed, cycle a few miles then sleep in the woods? That's February sorted Steve, same plan as last year except I probably won't ride out beforehand! M-d - I'm sorry to hear of your issues, I hope those instructions are temporary until they know ...

Re: Aah bollocks.

An E bike is very much part of the future... I should've had one a couple of weeks ago but the wrong box was sent out. I then should've had one yesterday - another chuffin huge box in the garage, the test ride last night showed it to work about as well as I do at the moment...brand new and broken st...

Aah bollocks.

I got told this week that basically I couldn't ever ride a bike properly again. Ever. I've been diagnosed with a hereditary heart condition - Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy - that causes the heart muscle walls to thicken and harden, a by product of this is that the thicker walls restrict blood flow in ...

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

After watching everyone else having fun I’ve decided to give it a crack, currently at 3x3 while going between the hotel and work, already I’m thinking of detours to bag extras. Is there any way to upload past rides from ride with GPS? Absolutely! It's a bit long winded but I went through the proces...

Oh FFS this is getting silly. I was expecting two deliveries today, one has arrived and is the wrong bike. Just had the second one land. It's got DPD all over the box, which is right. Feels light though for a pint of Stans fluid and some other bits and bobs. It's the wrong address, not my box. Not ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

Another local one here, this time with Dr Nick. I had a couple of half days riding planned that fitted in well around family life. With the obligatory faffing for us both completed off we duly trotted. It's not particularly wild in my neck of the woods, but we dropped onto the first section of twist...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

I've managed to miss August and September BaMs, life and stuff not playing ball generally. BigDummySteve dropped me a text on Friday night and duly arrived on Saturday afternoon and brought the rain with him! Yay. You've come a long way from Ettingshall with that choice of grub pickers ,the only duck round there is found on the cut
I was disappointed to note that honey roasted pork scratchings weren't on the menu
