Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Went to Halfords today after yet another lost rear light. Me being in black clothing I wasn't gonna risk a blind driver. The Viz150, 300 and 100 were £30, £40 and £21 respectively. Quick check on the website and they'd obviously been price matching others. Prices of £21, £30 and £16. Aero post frie...

Re: Todays ride
Since Michael Goves announcement. Trying to scaremonger the likes of me to stop supporting CAGE, MEND and the likes (Sagir from CAGE talks about it here and the rest I'm sure you can find with a few taps) I decided to do something a 'bi...

Very nice, yes I remember now. Thanks for the pointer Paul.PaulB2 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 3:20 pmShaf, Aeroe is the brand name, nowhere near as sleek looking as a tailfin but so much cheaper. https://aeroe.com/products/spider-rear-rackredefined_cycles wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 3:12 pm What's an aero rear rack Phil. What's an aero rear rack Phil. Do you mean Tailfin?? In which case I'd go for it. Mate got one given and bought some others. Speaks highly of em and one day I might get the same.
Your bike will look as cool as the Summitoppler bike. Maybe even get an invite to Bikepacking.com for a photoshoot.

Re: What you done t' your bike today
Had a front brake that had been a little noisy on the past couple of GRVL rides so thought I'd sort before this evening's outing. Maybe a left it a little long … ~760km ridden on that on my regular terrain which doesn't tend to be that harsh on brake pads. I'm not sure if stock SRAM pads are just ...

https://oldmanmountain.com/ Thanks for that @sajama. Nice to see OMM haven't been sat on their laurels and have axle kits for thru-axle. Racks are looking very nice indeed and what struck the eye (after the rack) was how they describe themselves... 'we've been making bikepacking racks for over 25 ye...

Thanks Paul. Yes, that could also be a nice little option. You're right about the cash and ebay. Always done that with my own bikes and those built for others.

Just twigged thats her that won the spine race back in 2019. Makes what we get up to look a bit lightweight   Anyway, that book, The Finishers: a brief insight into the chapters. Fascinating read it seems. Imagine reading the stories of the 15 finishers over the past 37+ years. Judging f...

Thanks v much for this invite Pete. I'd probably have considered it if the bike was already ready and I knew it's the end of April. I don't really do pubs, so - hypothetically speaking and for future ref - lets say if you/others were going for a pub lunch/drink, would it be too much headache to arra...

Kids bikes!
Bit of a vague title, sorry. My little man is going on 10 soon and at some point I've told him we'll get him a new bike. But I don't plan on getting ripped for something substandard off the shelves. Only slight problem is that I do want it to look mint for him. I can swrvice the Shimano calipers and...

An 11 speed cassette, not in itself of much interest but, this will be my last ever parcel from Wiggle/CRC  Since I got back into cycling in 2007 they've always been there when I needed them. There wasn't even a last packet of Haribo, end of an erea. Just realised and went to read the reports....

Re: WTD: 27.5 boost rear wheel
Hi Faustus... You sorted for a wheel yet. I just opened another cupboard and out popped a DT Swiss M1700 wheelset. Front has been dismantled so rim only but rear is alive and kicking. It's an XD freehub and if you google it full specs can be found. Smooth bearings. About 35mm internal width without ...
