Re: Who’s appreciating riding their bike?

Certainly appreciating my daily exercise. Week 3 of WFH and I think I may have finally got used to it. I try to do something different every day with my ride. Sometimes I even use my road bike (Croix De Fer with 33c tyres, so not too roadie)! All rides are short and very local. Still find it a...

Re: Project Virus

Working from home now and the foreseeable future for the first time ever.

Very strange.

Will definitely go out for a ride tomorrow before starting work though as I didn't today and I'm regretting it.

I agree... However, adding the link will only result in more traffic to their web site ( I took a peek), which is all they are bothered about, as it will improve their search engine rankings, domain authority etc... They certainly don't give a monkey's **se about the environment, that's for sure. Th...

I love the deciduous woods immediately to the west of Rhayader. I have slept there a couple of times over the years and it has always been very peaceful. There is something about it that feels "soft" and welcoming. I quite often try and include it when joining the dots on BB events. Si If...

My daughter and I go for a weekly ride along the canal tow path from Llangollen. We have noticed that at least once in the ride we have what we call an "Aahh" moment. It catches you unawares and you don't know it's happening until it's almost over. I realise I've just taken a deeeep breat...

It has been far too long since I bivvied, or indeed rode up on Dartmoor. Very poor show on my part. Re: Bivvy a month 2019

December BAM done... I have to confess that I have struggled to muster the willpower to get on the bike and out of the house on more than one BAM this year. A local spot 2 miles from home that I have used once before. A little light rain and breeze to start, but then it all settled down nicely. Rath...

Re: South West Winter Bivi - Dartmoor Area?

I ended up having to drive from one end of the bay to the other and back last night at the peak of the horrendous weather. I have to admit that I am glad I wasn't out on the moors on my bike in that. I would not have been a happy camper, and as i ride for enjoyment amongst other reasons, that would ...

November BAM done... 11/11 Pleasant night out at the Southern end of the bay. 12 mile ride each way and not a bad sleep considering it rained on and off... Always intrigues me how noisy the coast is around fishing ports. Trawlers coming in and out all night. All went well until this morning when ver...

Re: South West Winter Bivi - Dartmoor Area?

The quarry is only about 3k out of Princetown so it makes a good spot to ride out to after dinner at the Plume if that's the idea. The ruins are technically outside of the wild camping zone in the national park, but I don't think that will be a problem in the middle of December, 😊

Re: South West Winter Bivi - Dartmoor Area?

Fox Tor cafe has just changed hands, but that shouldn't change their service I guess. We used their bunkhouse last time we had a SW BB winter bivvi on Dartmoor as we had got caught out in the rain and cold waiting for another group who were using Whiteworks. We gave up waiting and rode into Princeto...
