Yep, I just haven't figured out a price for it yet.
I’m interested. Is it 25.4 bar clamp?

Re: Rhayader Campsite/Parking

I think the Wyeside campsite by the river still takes tents, but they seem to have converted more and more spaces into hardstanding recently. Convenient if you want to walk into town. There's also Elan Oaks up by the Elan Valley hotel, a couple of miles west of Rhayader. Off the top of my head, best...

Re: Poll - Open in new window Yes or No

Ah yes. The ‘don’t care’ was about the tab/window thing, not about other people’s opinions. I don’t give a stuff if it opens a new tab/window or not, but I’m glad someone cares enough to ask the question.

Re: Quite remarkable when you think about it (maybe).

Did distance racers use dynamos 10-15 years ago? Audaxers certainly did. State of the art back then was a Schmidt (or maybe Shimano) dynohub with either multiple halogen headlamps with a homebrew switch or one of the new breed of LED lights, like Solidlights or Supernova. IIRC, Busch and Muller had...

Most modern gravel bikes do look like old MTBs, so if you’re of ‘a certain age’ that’s what you’ll see.

Re: Lock-down projects

Will hopefully replace the stupid electric roller door with insulated steel barn doors at some point. I replaced my one of my shagged up-and-over doors with insulated barn doors. So much easier to get in an out, and warmer too. Can I ask where you got the flooring from please? Was loathe to buy exp...

Re: Lock-down projects

chris n - can I ask if you removed the asbestos roofing yourself, if so how did you get on? I have a similar job for our garage in the spring. I'm also trying to decide if I should insulate or not! thanks Was easy enough once I'd worked out how to remove the fixings to take them off the roof myself...

This guy used to be a member over on yacf. I remember he’d toured quite extensively - definitely Australia, America and elsewhere - all on fixed.

Re: SS road bikes for touring

I’ve not done a lot of single-gear touring but plenty of fixed audax and a bit of SS/fixed bikepacking. Flip flop gearing always felt like you lose more time than you gain. Just walk whatever’s too steep and learn to spin. I rode a few long audax on 66” to 72” gears. Nowadays (10yrs and 10kg later) ...

I wonder if they'll be as good as the bridleway that came down alongside the church used to be? Was a sad day when that got ripped up for the hydroelectric cables to be laid.
