Re: SPOT Tracker Renewal Fees - Being Gouged?

Update. After I emailed SPOT and asking why they don't have a method to cancel subscription renewal online, I was told I have to call then on an international number. I did some research into consumer law, both UK and EU, and basically if a company sells a service 'at a distance' either by phone or ...

I've seen it mentioned that Lael shifts a lot compared to most people.

My mate has di2 on his gravel bike and did thousands of shifts on a 170 mile ride. I'll ask him how often he charges the bike next time I see him...

Re: Di2

Not sure of overall battery life, but I have read that a 1x11 setup lasts a lot longer, as the front mech servo is much more thirsty when shifting.

This is bullshit. You broke the rules and got DQed. Grow up. Sore loser. The post has now been deleted too, for PR's sake I assume. Do yourself a favour, go back next year, race it, don't cheat, and reclaim your reputation. People on here observing your mistake and calling you out is all part of the...

I don't use bikehike, it's pretty crap. Ride with GPS is by far better. Yes you have to pay for it, but that's because someone has put a lot of effort into it.

Re: Backing up photos using a Raspberry Pi

If you have an android phone, you could just use a USB-to-go adapter and a card reader to back up to the internal SD (put a large one in there).

No, what I wrote is clear, it is not a starndard QR, but the sizes are the same. If you read it properly, it says that.

Re: 10x135 Axle information

It is not a standard QR, it is 135mm spaced, and as Ian says, fits standard dropouts. Hope make 10x135 end caps, and I run this setup on my Pickenflick. Those superstar 10mm axled QRs ok, though mine broke during a ride this week! And I just replaced it with a DT swiss one. http://www.chainreactionc...

Re: Has anyone used a sunrace 9 speed 11-40 cassette?

I've used an 11-40 and 11-42 10 speed and a 11-46 11 speed, all with shimano mechs (medium or long cage only). If b-screw isn't long enough, unthread the b-screw all the way out, then hold the mech away from the b-screw stop notch, then thread in from the opposite side it's meant to go in. Works a t...

Re: Rockshox rebas

I'd always had Fox forks before, then they went sub standard in 2013 with the crappy CTD damper. I then had two pairs of Rebas, first were good, second were crap, no small bump sensitivity, only really worked on 3" hits that was it. I've since got a Fox Float 34 for cheap from charlie, and it i...

Re: SPOT Tracker Renewal Fees - Being Gouged?

the only thing with just changing your card numbers on the spot site is that they now check the number , and if its not a proper card number they revert back to the original one . I used to do it like that so I was in charge of when it gets renewed but cant anymore Oh, good to know thanks. Also sho...

Re: SPOT Tracker Renewal Fees - Being Gouged?

TBH I'm struggling to see what all the fuss is regarding the automated renewal. I'd rather that than have the service lapse when.I'm. Not expecting it. Set up a reminder on your phone or something/stick a note on your fridge? It's to do with not just accepted practice, but also legal requirements. ...

Re: SPOT Tracker Renewal Fees - Being Gouged?

SPOT are total sh!ts about this. They didn't send me a reminder that the automated renewal was going to happen, and also offered no way to cancel it without calling/emailing them. They took the money on June 20th last year. When I saw they'd taken the money, it was a week after the Brexit referendum...

Re: TDR 2017

I think this year's standout ride is that of Ben Steurbaut: breaks his forks, gets them replaced; breaks his frame, gets that fixed. Still finished in under 17 days Agree, very much taking the self supported, do it yourself ethos these races should be full of. Absolutely +1, amazing finish from Ben.

I managed to see: a lot of empty beer and vodka bottles, a car getting chased by the cops drive off the road and roll before the occupant ran away, and had two pittbuls set on me by laughing locals. It was a highlight of my day. The one shaded spot beside the open cast coal mine I liked that sectio...
