So,it wasn't the axle adapter afterall, it was totally fine. The cones on the axle were loose. 17mm cone spanners needed and the biggest I have is 16mm, and all my 17mm spanner are too fat as you'd expect  Anyway I've swapped everything across to my hope endura wheels I was keeping for rougher...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

So, I finally got out last night for April's BAM after a new mount for my ebike conversion battery arrived yesterday afternoon. Here's Old Sparky loaded up and ready to go. Some weight! But the only excess items were my DSLR with telephoto lens and a full walking waterproof jacket. The hammock under...

Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

I tried it in turbo mode (restriction turned off) to the nearest village shop and back. Normally takes me about 25 minutes, took me 14.5mi minutes and no sweat, so maybe it is rocket assist! :o Not that I plan on using turbo generally and certainly not for long rides or any BAMers. If it wasa proble...

Good find. There's one along the coast from me I was thinking of, but it's a bit overlooked and no door. I have been looking up old Royal Observer Corps bunkers in the area too. I was down in one years ago which was pretty cool, though I did have a bit of anxiety that some one would shut the lid and...

Good luck with that train to Thurso from Perth. I looked and it's anything between 8 and 14 hours with one change, assuming there's no delays or bus sections on the day. All weather Cambium carved c17 has been ace for me at a lighter weight (93kg iirc) and long days or road and gravel, and now at much heavier. My lighter friend also swears by the c15 for road and gravel.

There's often good offers on them if you look about.

Re: Todays ride

The main problem I'd see is them jiggling about and wearing holes in your frame bag, and fairly quickly too if they're rough or sharp. Maybe just put some old drink bottles in full of pond water (so you're not tempted to drink it!)
