Re: Double Bagging For Extra Protection Ooh Er!!!
If you leave the second bag behind, but take an extra clothes (e.g. down jacket, insulated trousers), said clothes can also be worn when not sleeping so double as emergency layers/something to wear when pitching a tent, cooking, etc. Might be worth bearing in mind. Thanks buddy, thought about insul...

Re: Double Bagging For Extra Protection Ooh Er!!!
I'm fine to -6C in it. The Minim is this one - https://www.phdesigns.co.uk/minim-200-spring-sale-2019 The Cumulus 150 weighs 370g or thereabouts. I use a similar system but I am a cold sleeper. Bobs setup would be good down to 0 for me. My 4season setup would need to be warmer than that. I've got a...

Double Bagging For Extra Protection Ooh Er!!!
Hey up So I'm thinking my next bivvy is a solo one. #5 in total, but it's looking like it might be quite chilly. Maybe -4. My bag is rated to -6 but if i was cold, apart from pressups there's nothing I could do. I have a couple of options ; •Use my OEX 7-2 degree bag inside my cumulus 0- -6 as well ...

Re: Bivvy a month 2019
I was starting to get rather jealous of peoples posts here and started to worry a little weather if I'd get out! Me and JC headed out for about 55 ish miles round trip or whatever it was to Ashurst Beacon last night. Got to camp at 11.30pm https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7824/47500144231_d211f4bed5.j...

Re: The Distance event
I'm booked ok, multiple times in fact but that was promptly sorted out! I do organised events, and I do stuff off the cuff under my own steam. It is a little pricey, but I guess you pay to ride the spirit of the event. Though i know that there is a genrtal spitit of an un organised event. Or even ju...

Barrow In Furness - Lancaster On The Big Truck
It's been a while since I done any distance work on a bike, but now the weather is changing for a little bit better I've been re-inspired to play outside again. This week I finished a 29plus build of a Surly Wednesday and thought that I best give it a bit of a shake down (more on that later) prior t...

Re: I Just Couldn't Help My Custom Built Lust Self...
I do like a bike with skinny frame tubes and fat tryes. Looks great, hope you enjoy it I'm in the same boat as you, don't really like over built frames, but I'm pleased how it's built up. Managed to do it on a super mega low budget, which was the plan. :-bd even refrained from ordering some Sram 12...

I Just Couldn't Help My Custom Built Lust Self...
So this build started off with a frame bag that came too late for the winter event  ....I didn't end up sending it back because of one thing or another. I then found some cheap 29+ rabbit hole rims  , then came across some fat bike hubs. I then seen a Surly Wednesday frame...then this hap...

Re: Strap obsession
I seem to have developed a minor obsession with straps recently. Obviously it’s partly the fault of Norm and his recommendations, but I do need to check if this is normal - does anyone else spend their evenings scouting the internet for the perfect strap? I wouldn’t mind, but these aren’t even sexy...

Kona Rove ST Deffo For Sale!
Hey up I'm giving up the Kona to look at getting a Bombtrack frame that fits me better. I'm 6ft 1 and I think that the large that it is, is just a bit not large enough... I would be looking for £400.00 (about halfway towards the frame) as I already have some spare wheels and would need to get a grou...

49 inch Carbon Bear Bones Poles / Tarp
So I ordered a pole suitable for an SMD lunar solo. The poles came super fast. Then the guy selling me the tent let me down. I now have some poles spare and new so id like to start using them. Has anyone used a 49 inch pole with a tarp? I've got an alpkit bicycle. 3.5 Thanks :) (Why on earth does it...
