First ever WRT and loved it, coming back next year with more mates too. Such a good event, nice and relaxed and everyone was very friendly :D Also thanks to Yetiman and Malcom (sorry, didnt catch your forum name) for the pub meet. First time i've got permission to sleep in a landlords garden

Re: WRT Weigh in predictions?
Bag is 7kg
Bike with sleep bag+bivy+water is 14kg and thats a singlespeed
So, thats 21kg or 46lbs
Time to repack and ditch some kit i think, altough knowing myself, i'll add that extra layer of clothing, a bit more food etc...

Re: How many spare tubes do you carry?
Two for me too, might also add in a repair kit
My repair kit reads
-2 tubes
-Multi-tool
-Pump
-3 tyre levers
-Mozzie repellent and sun-cream (both sit in my bag all year)
-First aid kit

Re: Food-what are you taking?

Food-what are you taking?
I always get this wrong, generally too much and the wrong type!
I'm thinking of a freeze dried meal as a backup if the pub or cafes are closed, several energy bars and some sweets. Is there anything lightweight that I can add for some savoury snacks?
Whats everyone else doing for food?

Re: WRT checkpoints-newbie questions
Yetiman, General plan for me is to ride with my mate (he hasn't rode for a few months and i'm singlespeeding!) and go to either of the closest checkpoints. Then using mainly tracks/fireroads, start heading west to Glaslyn (8294) and dip southwest Nant-y-moch reservoir. We'll probably circle south ar...

WRT checkpoints-newbie questions
I've entered into the WRT lite and i'm not really sure what happens or the point of the weekend! So; 1) What happens at the checkpoints? Do i need to write down a code (or something) to prove i've been there? 2) Is it a race and fastest time/most checkpoints win (not that i'll be able to get to all ...
