I'd love to do it, but doubt I could get a 5 week pass off work and most importantly ogg the wife. I think 100 miles a day would be my target to male the most of it and enjoy it.
Maybe I should try and do it next year just before I'm 50 as a treat to me.

Re: oddest place you've bivvied?
Tobermory Isle of Mull, toilet on the sea front after our tent on the campsite blew away in a storm.
Didn't get too much sleep though.
And next to the cafe on the top of Snowdon, woken every 20 to 30 minutes with walkers celebrating when completing the 3 peaks (never again)

Re: Tour Divide 2016
What I find incredible at this very minute, Mike Hall has now covered 50% more ground that our friend Greg May.
And I'm definitely not saying our Greg is slow, so what this hell is Mike taking to do that much more and be able stay awake for so much longer

Re: Bearstock Routes
John, what's your plan? Not decided how I'm getting there yet Plan A If I get a pass from SWMBO for the Friday after work ( and if the weather's kind for a dry night for dry gear at Bearstock ) Tony Lawman rides to mine and we ride the 10 miles from home to the Mersey tunnel train. Then take this r...

Has anyone ever checked if Mike is human?Ben98 wrote:Mike Hall is at 365 miles after 1 day 9 hours, holy moly!
If he continues at the same pace for the rest of the race he'll finish in (I think) roughly 10 and a half days!
Are alien mile eaters allowed in the Tour Divide?

Re: Tour Divide 2016
Mike Hall stuck for hours near beginning. Something wrong? I'm no Mike Hall expert, but I seem to remember listening to him in the past, I believe he doesn't like "racing" at the front for the first few days, letting the in less experienced than himself blow themselves out as he makes up ...

Is any first timer a contender?
Isn't it said that you ride it first to learn the race to race it the year after?
Glad Guy is riding and sure hope he has a blue dot over his head

My vote if for "Stupid idea"
It was put their for a reason by the bike designer.
"Good idea" if you can afford to risk the frame breaking and you are well under the weight of the bikes intended rider weight.
