This doesn't look right to me

I felt like there was some play in my headset on my last ride so had a look last night, took off the top cap and a couple of spacers and found this .. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52661274988_9ee1ab7ece_z.jpg 20230131_153125 by Shewie , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5266106558...

No need to worry about the price as I expect them to sell out in the first day, so unless you stay up tonight to order one as soon as they come online then they'll be sold out by the time we get up tomorrow morning.
Orders opened at 4pm this aft

I recommend Minttu as an alternative to meths, especially with hot chocolate

(it would probably work as a fuel too, it's a bit lively)

Re: Do you remember your first time?

We always camped out as kids - summer holidays would be spent high up in the fields that overlooked the village. Most folk had obtained ex-German army sleeping bags which were waterproof, so tents were generally lacking. However, I think the first time I did something that could be deemed as 'bikep...

Re: Do you remember your first time?

First "bikepacking" trip was around 1988, me and a mate rode from Keighley to Burnsall on our Raleigh Techniums, complete with DIY rear racks holding our monster Lichfield tents, I'm pretty sure I used my external frame Karrimor pack too as I couldn't fit my german army sleeping bag on the...

If it's cold I tend to shove mine in the bag when I wake up and lie there for a bit whilst it warms up. I also do the same with my bottle of meths.
^^ This ^^

Although I use a 1oz flat bottle for meths and keep it in a chest pocket overnight

Re: Waterproofing solutions (non-breathable)

Very few packs are waterproof or designed to be AFAIK, with the exception of Lightwave or some of the dcf offerings, or there's the roll top types. Seams won't be taped and the zips won't be waterproof either, ai think a DIY diluted silicone approach might make the pack as heavy as when it's wet so ...

Re: Pole bag... with webbing

I use a tread lite gear dcf pole bag when bikepacking with my Notch tent, but it doesn't have any loops so would need modding. I use voile straps to hold the tent and poles in place on top of my Confucious bars.

Prior to that I used a DIY ripstop bag which worked fine

Re: Repair to Jack Wolfskin down jacket

I had an incident with a down jacket touching a wood stove on a hot tent trip, I sent it to Alpkit for repair but wasn't overly impressed with the work, a glued patch would've been neater I think.

I've got around 3000 vinyl, a pair of 1210s and a couple of mixers to shift one day, I keep getting pestered to deal with it but I can't bring myself to get rid, too many good memories
