Re: Another long ITT type race - would there be interest?
is there anything other than adventure style?
Some bits I know, some I don't so would need to do some recce work. This route idea is really my first go last night playing on mem map, there will be tweaks.
No Long Mynd. North shrops borders. So a nice chunk of berwyns. twice.
:)

Re: Another long ITT type race - would there be interest?
Barney, cheers for the offer. I'll keep it in mind. That isn't the final route. it was just an idea! I think with a 10am start on the sat, 260k should be completable by afternoon on sunday with a short bivi and normal fitness types (this is based on me. - I did bb200 in 25 1/2 hours with a 5 hour bi...

Re: Another long ITT type race - would there be interest?
Cheers for the feedback. Yes I have a start location with plenty of parking, would work for a Grand Depart and like the idea of providing breakfast for all returnees. My idea was to make entry via a voluntary donation to the charity I am involved with. So I set to work last night and roughed out a r...

Another long ITT type race - would there be interest?
Don’t want to tread on anyone’s toes, I hope this post is not out of turn. Stuart’s built up bear bones and I realise that I’m posting on his forum. Please say if you think this is out of order. Is there room in the calendar / enough interest for another endurance race like the BB200? I have toyed w...

I went for comfort: robin mather 853 hardtail. 26 er. with stainless expedition rack. it's not light, but it is sturdy and with a dry bag keeps my arse dry. :-) 13l drybag on rack with sky high 800 sleeping bag, ron hill tracksters and helly base layer. w-proof 3/4s under straps. 8l drybag strapped ...

Re: The BB 200 Thread
Hope the rider who was hit makes a good recovery.
Did it happen on the A44 crossing?
There was an ambulance there when I went through at 7.55am, and I recall thinking that I really hoped it wasn't a BB200 rider involved.

Re: The BB 200 Thread
All of the above comments about the quite evil last 20k. Had a bit of a wobble at 85k but managed to talk myself back into it and enjoyed the watersplashes and claerwen in the dark. Then felt knackered, had shoulder problems and started making silly mistakes so decided to bivi down for a few hours. ...

I have used One Touch Location : http://onetouchlocation.creativeworkline.com/
and it does the job, not going to use it tomorrow as it relies on phone signal and that's pretty unlikely to have for most of the time.

What are your food strategies? Is anyone calculating calories or is it carry as much as fits in your bag? Re: The BB 200 Thread
i considered fettling my route for the northern option, but decided that it's not that far different and as long as I'm going parallel ish and in the same direction as I should be on a track, I'll just go with it. Getting ready for a shakedown/last training ride on thursday, from Hope to my home in ...

Re: The BB 200 Thread
Hmm, been looking at the route. I know some of the tracks. Some I don't know I can guess what they're like.
However, one that is bothering me - that track past the roman camp - is it a hellish bog fest?
