This is very confusing. It appears that there is a Great British divide and a GB divide and they are different routes.

Re: BG Duro/ GB Divide
Apparently, it was designed to be a gravel bike route. The routes that have come before the GB Divide were either LEJOG TT routes that follow A-roads/dual carriageways (no thanks), 'traffic-free' routes (think awkward canal paths/cycle lanes), or MTB routes (painfully slow and indirect). We sought t...

Re: The Hills! The Hills!
Cracking result there :-bd What ratio did you use? On my failed ITT in 2017 I had 32/20 I think. It does seem that there are endless hills, careful route planning on Stuart's part  On paper it shouldn't be as hard, it seemed much hillier than say the B150 but that has 6500m in only 235k :???:...

Re: Leeds to london on canal path?
Not all towpaths are equal. Some are really good, others are difficult. I've ridden from London as far as Leamington Spa, the section north of MK was awful. Even on a bike with a suspension fork and 2.8" tyres it was extremely tiring. Very bumpy, not maintained and lots of nettles and brambles ...

If there hadn't been server problems it would likely have sold out in 2.4 minutes!

Re: TD 2021
So far Brendan has had more sleeping time but has been moving a bit faster. Jay's stopped time is 1d 21h 4m vs Brendan's 2d 3h 11m. So Brendan has covered the same distance in 6 hours less riding time. That's what makes it so interesting. Brendan is obviously the faster rider, but JP has the experi...

TD 2021
Getting interesting at the front end. JP has now taken the lead after trailing Brendan Heinig for several days and dropping quite a bit behind at one point. Looks like race for first and second place is really on!

Re: Pillow recommendation please
I’ve now bought an Exped UL pillow. This is my first proper camping pillow. Up until now, I too have been a stuff bag full of spare clothing type of guy. But I know one day that I would come unstuck if I carried on like this.

Re: Moors One Hundred 2021
Also this. NEW DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED THIS AFTERNOON. After an all-nighter, herding cats, coffee, changing plans, waking people up and more coffee we think we have a workable solution. We are determined to run this year but only when Mr Johnson and Mr Whitty say it is safe to do so. I’m just pulling a...

Re: Rigs (NOT bikes) of the tour divide
I’d knock a few setups but then I realised, they’re doing the ride and I’m not, so fair play to them :-bd In fairness, it is generally good natured p1sstaking and observation. Something I don't quite understand is with all the talk of 'touring', then why not simply go and ride it whenever rather th...

Re: Rigs (NOT bikes) of the tour divide
The alloy tailfin without bag is much cheaper, and weight still OKish... How about the bike with a full length Narwhal tusk on the front. Are they planning to joust? https://bikepacking.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Mike-Enfield-tour-divide-2021_1.jpg I always wonder about the stability of the bik...

Re: Coldest driest climate?
Totally agree. I can’t understand those who look forward to riding in the summer. It’s so uncomfortable. A few years ago, I went on holiday to Majorca, it was 40 degrees, the pool was too warm, ditto the sea. The humidity was horrendous and still people were cycling up mountains. Give me the cold an...
