Phil - Fun reading your write up. I could relate on so many points both good and bad. Great getting to know you better during our three course meal in Tomich! I'll be having a read of your post! Steve - I think you helped me get through Fisherfield. Good chats and photo ops. Hope your neck is feelin...

Re: down jacket recommendations

Would be amusing to see you all in your down jackets and face masks having a wrestle and then getting too warm and having to take them off.

The GW is certainly a contender for me. Price is appealing.

Re: down jacket recommendations

Oooh, good timing I was just looking into this. I recall a few Boners have recommended the PHD stuff. Anybody actually tried this one? https://www.phdesigns.co.uk/wafer-ultima-k-down-jacket Quite a punchy price. Re: Anyone any experience of 'non shocker' version of USE/Ultimate seatposts?

I have two 27.2 USE seatposts bought from their outlet store in the summer. One is the superlight inline carbon EVO and the other is the titanium SUMO one. Both well made and lovely. The EVO is a bit difficult to adjust the angle, but fine once setup. I got both for half price.

I was offered a place and really would love to do it, but I just couldn't justify it given the current circumstances. I've told Nelson I will reapply next year.

Re: who rides Ti ?

Another Ti tart here: * Custom Jeronimo Rasputin, lovely ride -- albeit a bit flexy * Kinesis Tripster V1 -- sadly cracked upper end of the down tube back in May  I bought both 2nd hand, as I am too tight to buy a brand new Ti frame. I do love the ride quality and the look & feel. And assum...

Re: Mudguards

The SKS full length mudguards are very good with coverage, but they can be a bit fiddly to install, requiring a hacksaw, drill and adjustable wrench and patience. But once setup, I've found them pretty solid on my winter/commuter bike. However, when taking it offroad in mud and leaves, it's pretty e...

Have you tried sewing it up? Often works okay as a fix even for tubeless.

Fascinating / disturbing documentary on iPlayer called 'The Mole' about a mole in North Korea. I've already said too much. Just go watch it.

Re: BB200 2020

Gave this a good crack yesterday, semi-chasing Matt's time and to see where the fitness was after a funny year. Pretty pleased to get round in 14:32, even if I did do more pushing up tarmac than I have in the rest of my life combined! On paper it was to be my longest/hardest ride on singlespeed yet...

Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

The Gap is nothing compared the that descent off Black Hill or whatever its called. I'd argue the rocky descent down to Brinore Tramway is harder too, first couple if drops aside (mostly because it's always wet). Yep, Gap is totally rideable compared to the descent off Hay Bluff. Per link from Sean...

Re: My BB200 2020 (may contain spoilers).

Does anyone know what that utterly insane descent off the top off the hill after Hay is called? I want to show a friend. Just, holy sh*t. From looking on strava, is it this bit? https://www.strava.com/segments/9350747 Olchon Valley Full Descent. -15.9% seems pretty insane to me. I found the upper s...

:o svelte! How'd you do that?

I only weighed my bike before food and water and it was around 14.5kg, so it was probably closer to 18kg+ all in.
