Re: Orange 137S & intro (Question from a newbie)

When I was looking for a bike a couple of years ago it was a toss-up between a Orange Clockwork or a Bird Zero but I was wanting it for trail centres etc. There is no way I would have brought either if it was primarily for bikepacking. However, I do use my Bird for bikepacking until I can afford n+1...

Re: BB calendar - any interest.

I'm assuming it'll have all relevant weekends/races/events highlighted. Uhm, probably not as it'll need doing very soon and not all dates for next year are available yet or those that are could likely change ... nowt worse than one that's got wrong dates in. However, there would be plenty of space ...

BB Waterproofs

Did anyone find that their waterproofs were up to the job? Considering hitting the button on an Outdry and am curious how peoples kit performed. What kept you dry? What kept you warm?

What time is the cut off? Assume the one for 200 has passed and presumably the 300 is now-ish?
Anyone still out there?

Being able to hook on stem cells does look good. Struggling with that and a 40mm stem. £21 though...

Don't the alpkit bags still have hoops on them? The 13l bag I have from them certainly does and I use the hoops on it for this exact reason.

Edit: ^^^^ Those are the ones.

Can someone give a bit of a description / describe the point of a gilet? All the ones I have seen before are kind of like body warmers - I assume these ones aren't insulated?

I ripped a big hole in the wall of some TCS ones. On slate rather than gravel though so not sure that counts. Walls do seem thin though.

I have the trp hy/rd on my CdF which appear to be a similar idea. They are OK and appear to be quite highly rated but aren't a patch on mtb deore hydraulic's.

Re: LOCK -strong and light [so probly not cheap]

Just a thought but what about something like a cylinder that clamps around the chain as a ride away deterrent? Could be small and light and if it gets bolt cuttered that would also take out the chain so still not able to ride it.
