Re: Good wheel builder

Can I be the first to suggest buying a copy of Roger Musson's book and doing it yourself? I didn't want to be the first but I'll certainly second that Well I couldn’t do any worse than a certain Banbury based shop as witnessed at the Christmas jolly. What equipment would I need? I have some ...

Re: Anyone have the Salsa EXP handlebar cradle?

I picked one up last month for my Mukluk. It's fitted to Salsa Rustler carbon bars and is as mje25 says, very stable and solid If anything, at least for a SS setup the frame mount arms are almost too long. As they are aluminium though I've seen talk of machining them down to suit your setup I rode f...

Re: Bivvy a month 2018.

1/12 after a somewhat eventful January 2017 had been a pretty good year of riding but it all but stopped after the BB200. Working overseas and a series of bouts of manflu attacks kept me away from the bike and festive Xmas riding. I was entered for the Cafe Racer but needed to be in Austria for the ...

Adidas Terrex Trail Cross Protect
Wore a pair out of the box for BB200 and never looked back. Have the Stealth sole of the 5.10 and are reasonably waterproof. They are on the Adidas website @ 26% discount at the moment but watch out, they come up small in UK sizing. Use the Euro size as a guide

Re: 2017 goals and achievements

Rediscovered my love for MTB with the the Big Ed. Bitten by the bug of bikepacking to go further and longer. Managed 7,500km by September and thought 10k might be on the cards. Rode BB200 in under 21hrs off a flight from Las Vegas and have hardly ridden since due to work travel. Hope to be back in t...

Re: BB200 - The Aftermath

I also ran a Toro on the bars and Diablo on my helmet. Both on low until the Diablo gave out with 1 hr to go. I then ran the Toro on medium and by then it had only just gone orange on low If I wasn't riding fast  . Then I'd use my SixPack on the bars and the Diablo just for technical sections ...
