Re: 2017 YD200
I'll be there Friday
If the GF stops sulking because she's found I'm doing it, then she might join me for a ride or walk on Monday
Now I need to decide on a gear for the Mukluk. 2km @ 13% average (20.4% max) over Birks Fell will be a walk anyway

Re: Bivvy a Month 2017.
As I actually stopped this time, I can post here  Claire's mum lives down in New Alresford and I wanted a last test ride before the YD200. The SDW is slightly shorter and less climbing but has similar characteristics. An easy one to navigate with transport laid on to one end I decided to ride i...

Re: Peak 200 tomorrow
I believe the proprietress of a certain Mancunian bikepacking-centric bike shop got lost there for 45 minutes then gave up and had a sleep on the trail. Good ride that though. :-bd Didn't feel like bivvying? I think the ladies sitting by the bridge at Blackwell Mill drinking wine were bemused to se...

Re: Peak 200 tomorrow
Here are my two records of my ride: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/16716211 or https://www.strava.com/activities/1125711386 The RidewithGPS was recorded on my phone and it got a little confused when I went indoors. Hence the extra distance recorded. The elevation though would seem more in keeping wit...

Re: Peak 200 tomorrow
Weather held until 3am. Made it round just shy of 30 hours. Apart from problems interpreting the GPX trace joining and leaving the Mosal Trail navigation was ok. Ended up riding 242km.
No mechanicals or injuries.

Peak 200 tomorrow
After perfect weekend weather in the peaks. I find myself looking out the window at the rain. Claire and I came up on Saturday and rode the Tissington and High Peak Trails to Middleton Top, then back to Ashborne on the NCN Route 547. It was easy spinning but rather enjoyable. (Especially burning off...

I stopped at Fredrick's Icecream shop last Saturday and a gent on crutches approached me and started asking questions about the size of my tyres. I thought it was going to be the usual but turned out he is a fellow MTB nut  Anyway, the conversation continued about fat bikes and he mentioned tha...

It's about £9 single from Leeds to Skipton, trains run every half hour. The trains have specific bike locations (hooks near the door to hang the bike by the front wheel) but so long as you aren't travelling at rush hour just get on and stand with your bike at the double door that will be to your ri...
