Re: Viz top tip

What were they saying back in the 70s? ' Come home to a real fire, buy a cottage in Wales ' (Sorry, for the younger ones, there was a spate of English holiday homes in Wales being set fire to by Welsh nationalists back then). Still, if the majority follow Viz's advice then the hills around B...

Thermarest user here, with sleeping bag not quilt. Re: Route ethics

The corollary to the question you pose is that someone might be cheeky at a later date and put my freely shared route in a book or a paid for app but I'll never see anything for it. Didn't Dave B recently comment that someone had copied word for word a route from one of his books and publish it wit...

Re: Route ethics

I take the view that every route already exists, it just requires someone to join the dots, although doing so doesn't give you any ownership over it (but it is nice if credit is given where it's due). Fully agree with Stu. If someone sells a gpx they're not selling the route, they're selling the ti...

The obvious one John would be the Sierra Designs Backcountry 3000 https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/backcountry-bivy-3000/#Specifications . I have the 'long' and it is a roomy bag for my 6ft 16 stone bulk with air mattress inside. Usual waterproof / breathable compromise, it's waterproof when full...

Interesting situation. As you say, a Planning Application will be necessary and there could be several reasons for objecting on planning grounds including access issues along with some others mentioned above. If there are sufficient numbers of objectors it may be worth considering employing a Planni...

Nice write up NeilA :-bd I'm particularly liking the Launderette service available, I can certainly see the benefits of that during certain rides. That's a great ride V, well done :-bd There are some good bridleways between Crickhowell and Stanton too but they're well used by pony trekkers, the lanes are definitely easier going! Re: Bivvy a month 2023.

February BAM started on Saturday afternoon in Crickhowell. I had a couple of bivvy spots in mind but was becoming wary of the ever...
