The build quality and reliability is worth the extra few grams in my book.jameso wrote:Useful, thanks for all the input. The Zendure A3 seems to be well rated but it's bigger than I'm after, 3350mAh and sub 100g was what appealed about the Anker. Flip 20 looks like a good compromise.

Re: Spot Gen 3 USB port Cover
I've got some spare port covers now, they aren't from Garmin but they might work. I'll have some at the BB200, come and find me before the start.

Yep the turn by turn isn't for riding this kind of thing with. If I have to pony up some cash to buy it I want it do do everything I need.Richard G wrote:You're still using turn by turn on the Garmin? I'd have thought you'd have learned your lesson by now and just followed the line.

Oh the suspense of downloading my route email and finding the full horrors  Just need to get out of Africa in time  Doesn't the wifi reach the poolside bar at this hotel? Just seen this and it did marginally. Which was better than my chalet where it only worked at around 2 am https://fa...

I spoke to a very nice lady at the Star Inn yesterday to explain why a parcel had arrived there from Wiggle unannounced (another story  ) and she was mentioning unheard of figures like 25C :o Could be that my warm weather training over the last 6 weeks will pay off :-bd https://farm5.staticfl...

Re: Android mapping app
You can just use the OS maps app for that. As long as you have bought the maps in question and inputted the codes you will be able to see all the detail. You just download the gpx file into it and away you go. The route will then live in your My Routes bit for as long as you need it. I have the os ...

Re: Android mapping app
So the app doesn't do turn by turn navigation then?
Any other suggestions for one that does more Garmin style? If not this is better than nothing.

Re: Spot Gen 3 USB port Cover
Garmin ports aren't despite what they say. I know from my one experience my edge will only charge now and cannot connect to a computer with USB any longer. Garmin say I got the port wet!

Re: Android mapping app
On backcountry navigator I have figured everything out apart from how to follow a track. I can go to waypoints but there doesn't seem to be a follow track option anywhere I can see. If you can do this can anybody tell me how please.

My diablo is normally paired with a revo. For worknriding lately it's been paired with the b&m luxos, another good combo.

Re: Android mapping app
The back country maps demonseems to work fine. I have downloaded maps and the gpx files. In the morning I'll try it outside and see if it can navigate ok. Once I figure that out !

Android mapping app
Can anybody suggest a cheap or free android app that lets you load gpx files and follow them. I want to download maps to it as well so it can be used off line as a garmin backup for the bb200.
Many thanks

Re: Anker cell - thru-charge?
Thanks Ian, I'm aware of the juice cube usb, I bought 2 when I was last in the UK. I'm using 1 on my gravel bike which works well on day rides at higher speed. I think 2000mAh might be a bit lacking on multi day mountainbike trips where I need to replenish the phone as well as keep the gps going at...

Re: BB200 2017 - No More Speculation
Well I have just spent a couple of hours going through the route and I realised I have ridden big chunks of it before. It looks like it will be hard in some places but great fun. Fingers crossed for the good weather, as from the translations I have found, "Wales" means land of rain and mist.

Re: Anker cell - thru-charge?
Zendure is meant to but I can never really figure out whether it really does or doesn't. The bumph certainly states that they do. Otherwise, a very nice piece of kit. I have two work Ankers, neither do and a personal Zedure, its does. It's also very well made, has a brilliant little usb cable and b...

Spot Gen 3 USB port Cover
A friend borrowed my spot and it came back without the rubber USB port cover. Anybody know anywhere you can get these, ideally for this weekend? Yes I have googled it and emailed spot and I'm still waiting to hear. Anybody not going want to "hire" me their cover for the weekend if not? Man...

Tehy look good, but after reading it the first question that came to my mind has been asked, if they are not sealant compatible, what happens if you actually have to put them in a tyre that has sealant residue all over it? Do you have to hope there is a mountain stream or fresh grass to clean the ty...
