Re: YD300 2021

Hmm, sorry if I came across as casting nasturtiums...
My thinking was that (at least one) previous editions of the YD200 were a) off road, and b) 200km.

Re: YD300 2021

Everyone's clocked that the 200 is 200 miles (320km), yes?

Re: YD300 2021

I wanted to tour the route a couple of years back, but my riding buddy had a change of plans that meant we couldn't do the whole thing. I've just revisited the idea, but have tagged on riding to and from the start, which takes the total distance up to 535km.
I am a fool.

Re: Wildlife

Which camera do I want (budget, less than £100 but needs to be small enough for the framebag  ) I suspect this is probably moon-on-a-stick territory. Ideally, you want fast start up from switched off (£££), excellent optical zoom (£££, and tends to involve a larger lens assembly), high resol...

Re: Another "one for the coffee snobs / enthusiasts / weirdos"

I've got one of those ^^ at home.
It's not great, as it sits too deep in the cup, and once the point of the cone is below the level of the liquid in the cup, it stops dripping through.

Re: Todays walk

Weltschmerz well and truly took over today. I had a chat with my manager at work, we agreed I should log off for the day, and I headed out to the local hills and moors. It was pretty bright, definitely windy, and though I didn't find a cure for what ails me, I did find relief from the symptoms. A de...

Re: Todays ride

Just over an hour, bimbling round the local tracks and woods, enjoying the air, and treasuring the birdsong.
Highlight was a couple of boisterous woodpeckers chasing each other through the tree tops.

Re: Today's Run

Just finished off my Run The Square project. 5.9km, 34'19", 110m up. Enjoyed it. After a week where my anxiety burnt me out a bit, I forced myself to have a few days rest. Running brought me that calm, detached feeling that helps the worries and angst fade away. Thankfully, no dogs to deal with...

Re: Todays walk

Up early*, and out into The Peak with the offspring in tow. Mrs Landslide opted to do some fell running while the rest of us bimbled down a hill and back up it via a number of paths of varying bogginess. I'd (perhaps unwisely) mentioned that we might see deer if we were (a) quiet, and (b) lucky. Thi...

Re: An Easier Way to Plot Routes on the OS App.

Komoot does snap to route, and now has differentiated colours for BWs/footpaths/water/other.
I still tend to use the OS layer on Bing maps as a reference whenever I'm plotting.
